Root themes?

Well hello again all you fine folks who are smarter than me. I am here today to ask about themes. What they are, what they do (although its kinda self explanatory I guess), I kinda already know how to apply them thaks to qbking(tschofield) but from what I understand the theme needs to match the rom I'm running and all the ones he's revewed or whatever have been for srf 1.1.0 and I recently updated to 1.1.1 so I'm wonderng if there are any themes out or if the ones for 1.1.0 will work for the update or what.

Now I'm about as tech savvy as the how to videos allow me to be but I do have some common sense so ill try to keep this as simple as possible. My biggest concern is that a theme will affect the way my ROM runs. I figured its just the equivalent of a skin for the ROM but again I'm not sure so if you good people could steer me in the right directon I sure would be appreciative.

Also is there like a compilation of thems I can look through or is themeing kind of an art form that's quality over quantity? Any suggestions would be loverly

Okay found and flashed the hr giger theme and I'm hooked.....I freaking love it there's so much detail down to the transitions and thank you sir for the exceedingly comprehensive guide however I'm not really interested in making a theme of my own...my hopes were more geared toward finding a theme I liked and while I've done that I had hoped t find more than one....I think I saw one for srf 1.1.0 by mysteryemotionz that I wanted to check out but now I can't find the damn thing anywhere....I also can't remember the nname of it go figure....allthe same thank you for the help at least it yeilded a badass theme for the time being I guess ill just keep my eyes out for others I can use with my syn frozen 1.1.1

Any theme that works on SRF 1.1.0 will work on SRF 1.1.1 so no worries there.
Each theme is different because they could of edited a few things to get them the way they are, so it's best to read through the OP of the thread and see what they say it works on.
If you check the Epic 4G section of android central Paul maintains a pretty good list of ROMS, Mods, Themes and the sort over there. Not sure there is anything like that here.
If your not registered over there you can just look through the Theme section of XDA.

Do whatever the op says to do. Most are clear cache or cache and dalvik but best to error on the side of caution and do what the op recommends. Sometimes they have special instructions for very good reasons.

I was able to find real nice boot and shutdown animations ([BOOT] Helix Animations, Fuchsia Shutdown added[UPDATED 4/5/11] - xda-developers).

The shutdown installed from cwm no problem. The boot, however, won't work because I don't have a boot.zip-compatible kernel.

I would, but my phone is running so well that I'm afraid to mess it up for a boot animation that I'll rarely see.

Thanks. The best thing would be to compile the animations into a .qmg file, which I know is not currently possible.
