What apps do you have sync and how often? What do you have turned constantly on? Wifi/BT/GPS etc.
gmail is set to sync
Samsung mail also sync's once a day (i like the widget
)
twitter is not set to update
weather updates as often as possible (i think it's every 4hrs or something)
and google voice syncs
wifi isn't constantly on. i only turn it on when i'm at the house. BT is also on only when at the house. gps is always on. i disable sound (no vibration even) when at work. data/syncing is always on. i drop my display brightness all the way down sometimes while at work as well.
these are all just settings that work for me. but before my phone finally told me to plug it in at 15%, i had gone over 2days and 2hrs man. i would've been happy with 1.5 days. but 2 days
lol just insane for a smartphone. with the same settings on my Evo, i was lucky to get a little over 24hrs and it was rooted with kernels/ROMs that were specifically for saving battery life.
if anyone is wondering why i disable all sound/vibration while at work, it's because i work on a computer all day. so the phone is only used for calls/text for 8hrs. now i bet you're saying "well no wonder you get so much out of it"... not so fast haha. i use something called SMS popup which turns my phone screen on and displays part of the message. this is set to timeout, or cut the display back off, after 1min. so there are lots of times i'm away from my desk where the display is just on for a minute.
even further... because it's a new gadget and i'm still in "play" mode, i turn it on a lot and just mess around... like checking for app updates, messing with twitter, just looking at the weather, etc. tbh, i just love looking at the screen ahaha
when i first got it, i didn't have it hooked up to my network. i was just using wifi. it was being left at home while on and unused. if you wanna know if you have a faulty unit, i recommend doing a similar test. just let it sit at stock factory settings and see how long it lasts after charging it up fully. if it lasts days, you know you're good. if it dies in just one day with no use... there is a serious problem. this also helped with checking for random restarts because you can check your "up time".
