Verizon private sale for thunderbolt

I recently received by mail, and email an invitation to a vz private sale in which i could pick up the thunderbolt for $199.99. I was reading last week that some people maybe receiving the TB for $99.99 as it was on droid life. Here is the link Verizon Private Sale for $99 Thunderbolt Lasts Through June 12 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog. Has anyone received the invitation for the $99.99 price, or has anyone been able to get the TB for the $99.99 price even though their invitation to this private sale was for $199.99, and how did you get it for that price, was it at the store over the phone etc... I would like a TB but i dont want to pay $199.99 for it. I would rather wait for some other devices to come out but i believe vz is going tiered data this summer and i would like to be grandfathered into the unlimited before they do.

I had a weird experience- I wasn't due for an upgrade for over a year. My wife was getting one though (as she was due), and I was calling Verizon to negotiate a phone for her. They informed me that they'd sell me a TB for $149, regardless of needing the upgrade. In other words, my wife got her upgrade (got an iphone), and then I got my TB for $149. The crazy thing is that my upgrade date is still listed as the original upgrade date (about a year from now).

Any phone with a plan of $59.99 (not including data of course) or higher is eligible for an annual upgrade.

is your phone at that rate?

keep in mind that the Annual is no longer available to renewed or new plans in the future. But if you still have it on your plan, you can still do it.

Also, the private sale pricing of $199 is (I believe), is before any existing New Every 2 credit, so if you have a $100 NE2 on your account, you'd have it down to that $99. If you had a $50, it'd be $149, etc. Again, that's going away so you won't get that again the next time, but if you still have it, by all means, save some bucks :)

Im interested in upgrading my eris, and the flyer seems to be lacking in information for me, can anybody clarify. If my upgrade date isnt here yet, what kind of price do I get on the TBolt, do I still get 200$?

Easiest way to find out is go log into your MyVerizon account online and it will show your upgrade date/meter. You can then select "Upgrade Now" button and see the current pricing for all devices.

You get full retail unless you either qualify for the private sale (dictated by corporate, so reps cannot give you this price unless your account is flagged for it already), annual upgrade (if you still have it) or use another upgrade on your account.

Your vzw.com account will let you know what your upgrade dates are.

So, let me get this strait and provide some more detail so you guys can confirm what I'm thinking. In the mail yesterday I recieved a private sale packet from verizon indicating I could get the Thunderbolt for 199.99, and it had both mine and my brothers number's indicated. The packet made no mention of my father's line, who is up for his new every 2. Can I get the thunderbolt without using my father's upgrade (the only one available on our account) for the 199.99 price. From your comment it seems that I would be flagged for the private sale so I don't need the other upgrade stuff, correct?
