Help Galaxy's battery died and will not charge or turn on at all!!!

So, I have a Samsung Galaxy S... and I don't even know how this happened! I accidentally fell asleep without putting my phone on the charger so naturally it died. And then, I woke up to see that it was dead. I started to turn it on and plugged it in (at the same time, I don't know if this messed it up or not...), it worked for about three minutes and then died... the charger wasn't charging the phone. So, I left it off and plugged the charger in and it flashed like the charge was booting up and then nothing came up to indicate that it was charging and it was just a dead screen. I tried removing the battery and trying to over, that didn't work. I don't know what happened! I didn't do a damn thing to my phone and now it won't even turn on! It's died all the way through before but whenever I plugged it in it would work again. I left in it the charge for a bit and then tried it again and it loaded to the charging screen but then it disappeared again. Why is this happening now? I'm not really savvy on phones, so I'll admit I am a noob and I have no idea what I did/what is happening.

Can someone help me out?

SAme exact thing happened to my phone. And samsung will not cover it under their warranty. Said it is my fault due to misuse!! WTH?? But Yet i have seen ALOT of posts with ppl having the same exact issue. apparently the usb port where you charge comes loose... Seems to me that is a factory defect and our phones should be replaced. at least they told me it was due to the port coming loose. But obviously there is something more wrong. Thanks samsung. for not replacing my defective phone and blaming me. UR GREAT!!
