Best grocery list app?

I am looking for a grocery list app, that is worth having?

I have been using the tadalist.com web site and have been generally happy with it. It's a web page that works in any browser, so it's really easy to sync with; my wife can add the half-dozen items she forgot to put on the initial list while I'm on the way to the store and I'll see them when I get there.

The problem is that I only have marginal connectivity at best in the stores where I do most of my shopping, and often it drops to zero bars. With the previous version of the tadalist.com software, that was only a relatively minor inconvenience: each item had a checkbox, and even when I was offline the checkbox worked (although moving a checked item to the bottom of the list only happened when I was in a part of the store where I had a signal). However, they just changed how the list works on my phone, and there's no more checkbox: the only way to identify that an item has been bought is when it moves to the bottom of the list and is shown with a strikethrough, and you can only make that happen when you're connected to their server.

So what I'm looking for is an application that has good synchronization via a server like tadalist.com but is also functional when I'm in a dead zone in the store (i.e., shows me what I've bought and updates the server once connectivity is restored). Do either of these fill that bill, or are there others I should consider? I really don't care about recipes and master lists and stuff like that; I just want a list that syncs well but works locally when I'm offline.

Honestly I tried using apps for shopping but fumbling with a phone while pushing a cart around wasn't particularly fun.

I guess for me the pencil and paper still work best for groceries.

I have been using Out of Milk and like it just fine so far. It is the only one I have used though so take it for what it is worth.

I 2nd OurGroceries. This is an excellent and dead simple grocery list app.

As always, "best" is highly subjective. Can you qualify what you mean? What features are you looking for? What other preference do you have?

My wife and I use Our Groceries. It allows for list sharing, is cross platform (she has an iPhone) and has a web interface.

You can try my app, if you'd like. It's called "Shopriant" -- allows syncing between phones, multiple lists, voice input, multiple sorts [aisle, category, A-Z, remaining, priority, etc], simple interface, etc. The main goal being lightweight, fast, and simple.

If it takes off I'll be building a web interface for it as well.

There are a ton of other apps out there if it doesn't fit the bill. The most popular seem to be Our Groceries, Grocery King, Out of Milk.

After trying a bunch, I finally found Our Groceries. Syncing between two phones was priority to me and it is almost instantaneous.

I'll give yours a try and let you know what i think . Am also trying OurGroceries and Shopping IQ but neither seem to do all i want. Out of Milks new pro version might fit the bill but i hate to pay before trying something first.

Starting the app lands you on the list page where you see all your lists and the number of outstanding items, which is a nice overview. The app can also store recipes to allow you to quickly pick up what's needed.

You can use their web site to import items for your grocery lists (I exported my info from To Market and imported it in a couple of clicks into Our Groceries.

Highly recommended. Not as pretty as others, but for me the most effective/efficient of any of them.

I am coming from HandyShopper and the only one almost keeping up with it is ToMarket. It is working very well for me and the next version should fix some last bugs found and introduce some requested features... for me the best shopping app.

I used to use Grocery IQ, but the syncing became extremely unreliable. When Mighty Grocery was available for free on Amazon awhile back my wife and I got it. It has been flawless so far, but more complicated to use than Grocery IQ.
