Hi having read some of the previuos threads i havnt found 1 quite right for my issue, ive recently popped froyo on my x10 and im having poor unplugged times EG last night charged phone unpligged 1am went to bed got up 10am battery had gone down to 42% with most of that used by display (according to a battery widget) the screen was off all night so how can the display use so much of the power over the 9hr unplugged period (64%) i think it was? also is this figure actual %of power drained from the battery or just %of time each item in the list used an amount of power for for eg the display said 64% but may have used 1% of the batterys power and something else in the list like cell standby said 17% may have used 70% of the actual power from the battery what is it basing its results on?, surely if the phone is in standby with the screen off then the display shouldnt use much if any power at all?

hope some one can help thanks..

ps i have just installed juice willl see how it goes

Here is an article everyone should read - How to Speed Up Your Old or Sluggish Android Device

ok have read that article thats more relevant to the phones speed which is good really ive just had a thought tho is the display (acording to bat usage etc) assossiated with the touch screen element of it, and could this be staying alive even when the phones in standby? ifso is their a setting to customize this?

Cell Standby percentage can be weird. If I don't use my phone at all....Cell Standby will be at the top....or Phone Idle...

If you notice your bars do disappear and you do lose cell service, then that could be a problem.

Don't try and diagnose everything using the confusing Battery Use option built into the phone.

Something like this might do a lot better than the built in one - SystemPanelLite Task Manager for Android | AppBrain.com

try this, it worked for me and many other users.

charge your phone to 100% then unplug the charger, shuts down your phone, take the battery out, plug back your charger and put your battery on, the screen should come on and u need to power the phone on. after that the battery should be at 88% and charging. do this 3 times and ull see a very big improvement. i did this for 4 cycles and now my phone still at 100% (without charger) after 2 hours.

ps. if your phone doesnt show 88% after doing that process, and if u rooted and have xrecovery. just repeat the steps above and boots up to xrecovery and clear battery stats and reboots. then it should be recharging at 88%.

Here is what I do.

I install an app called Task Manager and I only use it sometimes. I also do not let it manage my apps. I leave that to Android.

Immediately after I start the phone (if I shut it down) I will open Task Manager and kill all apps...because I know that when I start my phone, all my apps start...then after several minutes Android will slowly shut the ones down I don't use.

Don't look too much into those stats. They change by the second.

Before I go to bed I also use the Task Manger. Last night my phone only used 2 percent of the battery. Two nights ago I forgot, and it went from 25 percent battery power to zero within 6-7 hours. But that was also because I had a bunch of apps that were running in the background. I had played a game hours before and I know that particular game doesn't fully exit when I close it...it keeps a portion of it open.

The percentage is measured from the time your phone starts...and it goes from there. Cell Standby shows because at some point since your phone has started, your phone was at one point in standby. I don't trust any of those numbers. Mine shows cell standby 69 percent. So since I have started my phone, my phone has been in standby 69 percent of the time.

Mediaserver 4 percent. So, since my phone started, 4 percent of the battery power has gone to mediaserver.

A lot of people read too much into those numbers.

That sluggish article is really a good read for simply just understanding how to save battery power and what wastes power.

Hope this helps you out.
