Root Phone keeps restarting!

This happens to me a lot too. Just happened a few minutes ago, I got a call from a number that I didn't recognize, so I went to flip my phone open and then when I slid it closed a second later it restarted. Almost always happens when I slide the phone closed, like after sending a text. I don't overclock or anything like that so it should be stable. I posted a thread a while back saying my phone reboots a lot when I slide it shut but don't think it got any replies.

I'd try a full wipe and fresh install, If you can, back up your SD card to a folder on your computer and do a full format (not quick format)from your computer to rule out the SD Card.
If that doesn't work go back to stock and see if the problem continues.
If it's still a problem return the now stock phone to Verizon for a replacement if your still in your year warranty period.

Reseat the battery.
If it happens when you slide your phone shut, it is most likely jarring the battery loose of its contacts. This happened to me recently, and it turned out, my battery contacts were dirty and my battery was loose. Try cleaning the contacts, reseating the battery, and if it feels a little loose, try stuffing a thin fold of paper in it to steady the battery.

well i also get a sd card unexpectedly removed error in the notification bar. It will freeze for about a couple seconds then restart.

Some good tips here, thanks everyone. For some reason I was starting to think it was something with the SD card too. These restarts used to happen without any notifications popping up or anything and it still just restarts when I close it shut, but lately I have been seeing "SD card safe to remove" messages when I haven't done anything.

I am using Launcher Pro on top of V1.1. When I restart my phone (on purpose) I've noticed that LP freezes for like a full minute or two and I can't do anything, eventually the error messages pop up and I force close it, and then when it reloads again everything is operational. So maybe LP has something to do with the reboot problem too.

I'll check the battery, I find it hard to believe it's got enough room behind the cover to be losing contact just from sliding the phone closed but I will clean the contacts.

EDIT: It's strange though, as a test right now I just tried smacking my phone around (lol), dropped it onto the table, slid it open and shut a bunch of times rapidly, nothing happened. So it seems like it must be some specific situation that causes it.

In Launcher Pro preferences, what is your memory usage preference set to? That, and do you have it set to be "system persistant"? There are a few other settings in Launcher Pro, (and launchers in general) that will make it unstable. Try fiddling with those settings first before anything else. Usually the simplest solution is the best.
