I am new and already rooted my ascend. i looked but did not know the name of the app. it is the one when you take a photoe of a little box that is black and white it gives information about it? any help would be great.

Sounds like a good app although i don't know the name of it, i can tell you this;
from what i have been told (and i actually tested this), Camera apps (such as Little Photo and ect.) on the Ascend will get force closes and is not capable for this phone

Search the market for QR scanners. Good luck getting it to work, though. The camera sucks. Maybe with perfect lighting and some patience it might work.

I have barcode scanner 3.53 and it works just fine for me... Nvr had any issues wit it

A lot of people have "lazy" Ascends, I must have one of the "blind" Ascends lol.

You have one of the the "delinquent" Ascends. You need to take it back to the "home" and trade it in for a new one.

I have QR droid and can get it to work with some codes. basicly the larger the code is the easier it is to get it to work out. Yes the camara is the problem, I haven't been able to get it to read any old school barcodes.
