I don't think I want 2.2 Who's with me? [Huawei Ascend]

So, since the discussion has started on if or when the Huawei Ascend Froyo releases, I've been asking other android users. 2.2 is great, it's epic, it does every thing! True, but I've also found out that it's a little harder to root, in that even z4 can't periminantly root 2.2 phones. Now I don't know if this matters to you, but part of what makes my Ascend, my Ascend is SU control. Which really drives half the apps on my phone and to go from set and forget to, temporary root to use sometimes seems like a pain. (How that even works with ongoing apps like SetCPU, I'll never know.)

Now, I thought maybe it could very well be EVO. So I tried it on other 2.2 and greater phones, and some worked with a perm root some didn't. I have yet to even see anyone with the LG droid for Metro to test it but from what I've seen it 2.2 itself not the phone that decides if the greatness that is z4 will work. Feel free to correct me, but as it stands? I'd prefer complete control over my 2.1 Ascend to limited control over 2.2 whose only benefit is tethering both usb/wireless (which I have from EasyTeather Pro/PDA Net and Barnacle [requires root btw]) and flash support, which is iffy as adobe requires a minimum of 800mhz processor which requires an overclock beyond SetCPU which also requires SU access, which requires Z4 root to work optimally. ;}

There may not be a bullet in every chamber, but there's one in there. Feel free to swallow the barrel and press your luck. Meanwhile, I'm trying to look for ways to revert a 2.2 phone to 2.1 or a custom rom that does this that would work on my ascend.

Am I the only one who has no interest in tethering?

Theoretically 1x is a form of 3G. So that's why they can get away with saying it's 3G. Though I think it's ridiculously vague of them to say 3G. They should say we carry 1x, Part of the 3G family.

They all do it. Cells, Internet, etc. What you are paying for is "up to" a certain speed, which means if you are getting just 10% of that speed, you are still getting a speed "up to" what you are paying for.
Also, I suspect there may have been some kind of legal issue where one provider decided to call their service 3G and sued (or tried to sue) any other provider that called their service 3G also. Verizon at one time used 1X to indicate "3G". :rolleyes:

First of all, I am very sorry for your loss. You can't use the Adobe flash player on the ascend because, to put it simply, the Ascend unfortunately just isn't powerful enough. There is a browser you can download for free from the market called Skyfire that will let you play a lot (but not all) of flash videos. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck with everything, and welcome to the forum.

Adobe flash does work on ascend with chstom roms. Cm8 i believe allows for android 2.3.1 and an oc to 900 but, it seems like a lot of trouble to get.
There is no such thing as CM8. (not yet, anyway) CM6 is 2.2, CM7 is 2.3. CM8 will be based on Ice Cream Sandwich, which doesn't even come out til the end of the year. No ROM will let you play flash on the Ascend, it's a hardware limitation, not software.

no offense but what crack have u been smokeing or iggit u been listening too?? There is no CM8! Flash WILL NOT WORK on a Huawei Ascend!!! I dont care what u hack, edit, blow, suck, or screw in the rear! Flash will not run on a Huawei Ascend, regardless of what software you put on it. Adobe Flash requires a arm7 or better cpu plus gpu. The Huawei Ascend HAS NEITHER!!! It has a arm6 cpu and no dedicated GPU.

So plz spare us your rumors, BS, Crack delusions, and predictions of ROMs to come but yet to be even started.

Oh and 900Mhz on a 528Mhz stock cpu LMMFAO!!!!

have a pleasant n good day now 8D

what, what, what, i have CM19 and its clock to 4.80 ghz on my ascend, LMAO!!!
LOL, funny, very funny.
everyone knows that CM19 is so last week. the newest build is cm40 and runs filet mingnon at 5.5Ghz with no overclock.

Of course you cannot pickup the phone due to the extreme heat, it only runs for 3 seconds and then spontaneously explodes.

You can then run ROM MANGAGER and restore to a new phone since your sd card is protected by a titanium shell that is heat and explosion resistent.
