Can't root

When I enter the first command prompt to open the file it says pathway not found. Can some one out here please help!

C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
my laptop states no known pathway or file

I would suggest rooting via Z4Root. It is a much easier method for beginners to use than using the Android SDK and ADB.

Search around on Google for "Z4Root .apk" and then copy that to your handset's microSD card. You will need a file explorer like EStrongs File Explorer to navigate to that .apk file and then install it. After that, just run Z4Root and choose permanent root. It may hang after five minutes, but should let you shut down and restart and then you can make sure you are rooted.

apparently I'm a complete idiot have downloaded z4root.apk to sd card and hard drive, also down loaded EStrong file explorer and can't get nothing going

Open Estrong, and look for the Z4Root apk, double click on it and install, once installed open and root your Hero
