when I am in bootlader mode my device is not recognized nor can it be updated. I have tried a fix via my computer, manual update. It shows as a flash device but it cannot be updated.

whats up w/ that??? how can I fix this.
Win7

I am trying to get my DX to 2.3.340

it is at 2.3.320 right now.

It was probably rooted, then I received it (via wiped clean) trying to get it up to speed w Froyo to get to GB. I'm good w rsd lite 4.9 and 2.3.340 zip.

The drivers on the computer is NOT installing the DX in bootloader.

NOW: the DX is up-to-date via normal running to download stuff, all that jazz.

When in bootloader NOTTA,the drivers are not doing anything, therefore I CANNOT bring up my device in RSD so I can get 340 installed.
I'm at a loss for what to do??!!

seems like i couldnt even flash stuff if I was to root.

(I need to go to bed) wifee calling from upstairs....

PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm sure some are sayn cause u recognize me...."SHAT....bleedGreen AGAIN"

looking foward to huge help!!! or do I have a shit phone and moderator sold me from here.!!! Hell YEA!!!

Did you update your Motorola USB drivers?
USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

First: Be sure you uninstall your current Motorola drivers from the Device Manager. Note: It's under DVD/CD-ROM drives while your phone is attached to the computer.

I did this before following the SBF instructions here:
Complete Droid X .sbf Flashing Guide

SBF to 2.3.340 went fine. I did have a reboot loop, but I did a factory reset as shown in the FAQ of the same Guild and the issue was fixed.

All done and updates. Thanks to all for awesome help.
I'm running GB now!

Good to hear! If battery life sucks the first day or so, let the phone discharge all the way then charge to full. I only got 12 to 15 hours the first day after GB, but after I performed the above I had 6 hours at 100% this morning and I'm at 80% after 12 hours (light use, standby mostly...working). Still great standby for a smartphone.

I was just wondering how to get my battery life to be better. Thanks!

Moved this to root section. :D

It takes days of use before an updated phone settles down. If after that time your battery still leaves a lot to be desired, you need to go into your battery use (settings... battery and data... battery usage) and see what's using it. Some people have done a factory reset after updating to GB and fixed their battery issues. Of course that means having to setup your phone again.
