Apple Copies Android Notifications

The only thing i wonder is what's next. Here's my prediction.

iOS6 has groundbreaking new features. With the latest update you can view apps from your homescreens. This revolutionary feature is called iWidgets.

Lol.

im surprised that something like widgets werent introduced with Ios5, they're such a huge feature that keeps me coming to android more and more.

we all know widgets can be battery drains and then Apple wouldn't have great battery life. They would be dare I say it just like Android

Everyone steals from everyone else. Look at the pt cruiser Chevy copied them for their hhr. Even hired the guy who designed the pt cruiser.

The thing is the media will cover it and put it out there like it's completely and totally innovative and the public will lap it up like it's truth.

Likely never happen. Mr. Jobs told us widgets are not allowed in a very public statement. Apple does not allow any widgets in the App Store.

now... will apple get sued for using some of the "innovative" things from android?

Like what?

Who stole the iBattery replacement from Nokia who in turn stole it from...

Everyone borrows design concepts and ideas from other manufacturers. The only problem is Apple does it too, but then they sue companies like Samsung for doing the same thing.

Btw i just wanted to mention that you have the best avatar of all time, people are asking me what the hell i am laughing at. Guess i shouldn't read things like this while at work.

Apple Copies Android Notifications
ORLY? So where's my centralized notification center on my Droid? How do I set the number of alerts? How do I place notifications on my lock screen? If Apple copied the new notification system from Android then I should have these as stock on my device, right?

^ This. Nothing new about it.

I had to Signup to post a reply to this Id....
I hope the Poster of that message knows that Mac OSx devices have had widgets for over 5 +years since the very first releases of OSX. And there was another company that started it and apple copied them. Now jump almost 5-6 years into the present and now Android is accusing some one of a feature they have had since before Android even hit the drawing board.

There is a reason you are using an Android, You REALLY don't get it. Android took many concepts it has from Xwindows now moved to a mobile format. Android is neat but no where close to ios smoothness/user experience.

Except the discussion is about iOS5, not OS X

It is one thing to correct a posters information if you believe it to be inaccurate or in error. It's another to personally deride and accuse the poster. This type of comment is borderline inflammatory and not constructive. Please re-read the forum rules.

If you can believe the web . . .

"Microsoft introduced the "Active Desktop" as part of the 1997 release of Windows Desktop Update, which was an optional component of the Internet Explorer 4.0 browser download and was built into all subsequent versions of Windows.

Microsoft's mini-applets weren't called widgets, but "Active Desktop Items." Microsoft and other companies offered a download site for "items" they created, including weather widgets, news updates, financial info, a comic strip of the day, and others."

First it was all about you don't have an app for this and that. Now it's about ios being smooth. As for the user experience it is just that, some users prefer the Android experience.

I have no problem with user experience. I actually Love Android devices and i am HAPPY there is choice. It just gets foolish when the fan boys come out and start talking. I come here to see what does the "other" camp think of the changes. I have an Iphone Jail borken and i can easily name almost 10 apps within cydia that apple has replicated if that is the right word their features. Lockinfo & SBsettings like holy crap apple stole that shit. So yes i under stand fanboyisim i say it with Win95,win98 vs Me and win2k vs XP and vista, xbox vs ps2 and now on mobile devices.

Android is a great system but don't sell it as innovative with one hand and strike at apple with the other. Google would not be doing a phone if apple came out with the iphone and it was a major FLOP. Apple created this "ARM" 's race now every one wants piece of the pie.

If we replace the word android with netflix can't this chat be the same. they having the same issue with competition.
