Hi--I've had my Dinc2 for a week now. All is going well. Quick questions:

1) I obviously have gmail and it makes a sound when I get an email. Which is great--as I like that feature. However, how do I turn off that sound (or put it to vibrate) if I'm at a meeting or something? Do I just adjust the ringer volume on the left side--I'm not just talking about putting phone calls on vibrate--I mean all sounds--including gmails.

2) What are the best ways to conserve battery life? I'm coming from the blackberry curve and I miss the battery life. What are the best ways to make sure the battery lasts longer throughout the day.

3) I'm getting more and more used to the keyboard. However, I'd like to turn off that thing where they try and figure out what word you are typing. How do I turn that off?

4) How do I put mp3 songs on my blackberry? I have about 100 songs that I had on my blackberry (which I transferred to my computer). How do I put them on my blackberry?

Thanks in advance!!!

1) yes use the volume rocker and set it to vibrate.
2) lots of things you can do. changing auto sync options. lower screen brightness. they also say vibrate uses more battery than sounds.
3) ?
4) just plug your phone into computer as a disk drive and then move the songs into the sd card folder called media (i believe thats what its called)

1) Not sure if you're looking for something different, but I just turn the volume all the way down until it goes completely into vibrate mode. Unfortunately, Android's don't have the sound profile capabilities of Crackberries.

2) A few full charges and discharges seem to help. Plus time. With the stock battery, I could go pretty easily all day without charging. Still didn't compare to my Blackberry Bold 9700, but pretty close. Got the extended battery, and that has definitely helped. JuiceDefender will help too, although there's a lot of things you can do to help increase battery life too (especially turning the screen brightness down).

3) Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> Touch Input -> Text Input. I'm assuming unchecking Prediction will turn it off, but I've never bothered to disable it.

4) I just created a folder called music on my microSD card and put them in there.

@1 Place the Ringer Toggle Widget on one of your home screens. It will switch the sound between On/Vibrate/Off. I can't remember if this was already on the phone or if it was a free download from the market.

@2 Install the free "Juice Defender".

Turn the brightness down on the screen when your in darker settings. Place the brightness widget on one of your home screens to toggle between low/medium/high brightness.

Install Screebl which will turn off your screen quickly when you're done viewing.

1. I use Switchpro vibrate/silent widget on my home screen to quickly turn off all sound. Also using Silent Time to auto turn off sounds at specific times e.g. daily morning staff meeting.
