Root Android 2.2 Froyo for x10 mini pro!!!!

Hello
I was looking for a way to upgrade my sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro to Android 2.2 Froyo. I tryed everything what i found but nothing worked!!!
I have Android 2.1 and i know that SE would not release a Upgrade to 2.2!
Yet i want to know IS THERE ANY WAY TO UPGRADE MY PHONE TO 2.2?
If yes, please tell me step by step how and what i should do, with an Instructions. Or maybe you have a link.

Take a look over at XDA developers forum. There are some ported custom ROMs out there. [REF] ALL ROMS | ROOTING | FAQs | STICKIES | POSTING RULES | Read Before Posting - xda-developers . Personally I haven't tried any of these, yet.

It can't be that perfect. Give us a more honest assessment, what works and, more importantly, what doesn't work? Is it quicker? Easier on the battery? More stable?

That ROM is 2.3 yes, but is not complete so if you want a fully working one...
I highly recommend to check this:
[ROM] Cyanogen Froyo CM6-Latest (based on MiniCM/CM6v2) - v2.0 + DualTouch - xda-developers

As far as I've used it, it works great. The only bug I've found (and quite known) is that official album/gallery from camera/video force closes, so you have to use another included gallery. Oh also people report FM radio but I don't use it anyway.

Plus dual touch was added today and it works almost flawlessly, much better than nothing and games that need 2 touches work amazing.

The link includes a very quick "installation guide" because most people there already know what to do.

Things to do before if you haven't done anything like that before:
1. Back up everything you can with no other tools (I did that just incase I screwed something).
2. Root it.
3. Get root explorer so you can put xRecovery files later.
4. Get xRecovery files and install it.
5. Make a backup of your system in xRecovery (save this so you can restore if anything comes up).
6. Install the ROM thru xRecovery.

The first few steps take more inside steps but just giving some headlines so you can look for stuff easier.
xda is the best place to mod your phones.

Warning: This will void your warranty and I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. I lost my warranty too heh. Also if you're not completely sure of doing something, look a bit more about it before jumping into it.

I tried the CM7v12 2.3 ROM overnight but am flashing back to stock.

Can't get bluetooth to work (that is the killer for me)
Hardware keyboard issues - no sym key and z and y swapped
Theme assets too small for this screen
Overall experience is a bit slow and laggy on this ROM

The one I posted is the only fully working ROM out there so far. I've tried bluetooth, hardware keyboard and the overall experience is pretty fast.

Since you've already tried a ROM it'll be really easy for you to try this one out. Get it and try it for a day, I'm sure you'll find it a lot better than the one you tried. You can always go back to stock anyway.

Big plus are dual touch and app2sd.

Guys, I have successfully rooted my X10 Mini Pro to FroyoComb. Unfortunately, I cannot even use it because the touchscreen would not work, so I would be stuck at the "Touch the android to begin" screen. Does anyone else face this problem? (It worked for a while, then it died forever.)

You can connect the phone via USB cable, use massive storage option.

Save it in any folder you want and then use a file manager app (like astro file manager, OI file manager, etc) and browse for it to install.

Note that some graphic-heavy games require an extra folder that is to be saved in a certain place to work properly.

guys i need serious help..my firmware version is 2.1 and showing update..but as soon as i connect to update it asks to hold the pback button of the phone after switching it off and then connect the usb..i did but prob is how long to hold the back button coz its already half n hr and no response..plz help...i want to update as i heard we can install applictions in sd card after that which is not possible now

I'm stuck at a similar stage with my U20 xperia mini pro in Ireland, i rooted using super one click, got flashtool, connects but when i try xrecovery, the recovery selector doesnt have any versions to select, just hangs there blank...
Help please?
