I am Bill and have just purchased a Samsung Intercept primarily for the WiFi and tether internet access. I think 54 is too old to get a phone of this complexity, but I want to do more than play Angry Birds. Is there a dumbass section to learn the basics? To me a kernal is a piece of a cob of corn. Been reading posts for days, need aspirin and some tranquilizers, tie a rope around phone and use it as a anchor for my boat. Going to keep reading and look for the biggest geek in my family to help, along with you nice folks. Thank you all for all the material you have posted for 'dummies' like me.:D

One additional question. Where might a person purchasing an expensive phone (intercept) find downloadable directions? Had to ask the guy at the 'Shack' how to turn the damn thing on.

Welcome to the Android Forums.

Old guys like us have to stick together.

You can get the basic user manual for your device directly from Samsung.

Google also puts out an Android user guide that you can read in .pdf form

The sd card slot is on the left side of the phone in line with the Sprint logo on p.116 of the manual.

No need to change your name, just tell everybody you have a cold ;)

Bill,

If you really need / want to change your username, you can PM (personal message) Phases, our administrator, to ask him about about your situation.

He's the only one with the superpowers :p to do this.

Cheers!

P.S. to create a new PM without seeing/having a username to click on and see its options, you can click on the "User CP" (control panel) text on the blue banner bar near the top of each AF page. On the Control Panel page (that also shows new posts for the threads you've posted in/subscribed to), there's a "Private Messages" section and a "Send New Message" option. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
