Total Newb Question

Hi Folks,

Just purchased the wife & I a couple Ascends from Cricket's new deal ($75 each for new customers.... $99 each for existing [huhwha?!?]). I was just happy to be able to stream Grooveshark finally. The wife was less thrilled about making a switch from our Hint QA30s... Of course she wasn't happy when I took her motorolla into the pool with me, so this is redemption time.

What I can't seem to figure out now is how to use the voice dialing. I know this is total newb territory, but I can't find the mic icon for it, nor see anything in the cricket provided manual you are also referencing.

If I use the Navigator, or even make a shopping list with an app I downloaded, there's an icon of a mic that activates the voice module. I don't see that anywhere for accessing contacts..

And it must be so simple that no one even addresses this in posts or manuals. That I can find, anyway.

Press Menu>Settings>Language & keyboard>Press "Android keyboard" (under Select language)>Go to the Fourth option, which is Voice input>And there should have 3 options there
*On main keyboard
*On symbols keyboard
*Off
And then turn it on from there

Ah - I'm using the Swipe keyboard. My wife's is set to the Android keyboard. I'll take a look at hers tonight.

Does Google Search check your contacts? I've already used that successfully to web search. Nice tool.

it goes the same with swipe as well, and yes it can check contacts as well, and no problem

I don't think the voice dialer works on this phone with the stock rom. You can hold down the call button to make it pop up, but I seem to remember nobody could get it to work.
