I was just curious. I have been on XDA, here, doidforums, and other blogs and news centers. Engadget, droid life, phandroid.

Not one mention of Class Action Lawsuit for this crippling orderal we thunderbolt users are experiencing, not all, but no ones knows the numbers.

New phone reboots several times a day
Paying on a bill and stuck on a contract with a phone that does not work as advertised.
Getting cheaper used replacements for a "Fix" to my higher priced new phone that doesn't work after the update.

The Tethering lawsuit made me wonder...

What do you all think?

I love the phone.
Hate the not shipped with Skype. Not updated Gingerbread, netflix on other devices, update crippled instead of helped, bad battery life unless rooted, power button sinking.. Need I go on??
Oh yeah more support given to older HTC and MOTOROLA phones than the Flagship Thunderbolt 4g LTE.

Thoughts?
 
Class action lawsuits typically only benefit the lawyers. Any cost to Verizon is only passed on to consumers, along with additional legalese in promotional and contractual materials.

Typically being the operative word... but yes the bloodsuckers usually do quite well. However many times they are the only way to get the attention of a huge company. It often works quite effectively.

Testing obligations aside, this is more HTC's mess than any carrier. We get angry at the carrier because they interface to us with a bill. You can't fault Verizon for selecting HTC as a vendor, the company has a good reputation.

I owned one of the first DVD players. As studios signed on to moving from analog to digital, discs would come out that didn't play in first generation players. Imagine if you bought a DVD player and it couldn't play a certain studio's disc. That's what happened. Update? Over the air? No.

LTE is at first generation. HTC had to write an LTE radio with no predecessor to base it on. As early adopters, we end up with a few bruises. The plumbing exists to make the problem go away. I wouldn't blame HTC and Verizon if the Gingerbread update takes what many of us perceive as a painfully long time. There are quite a few things that need help aside from the OS version.

To be honest, some of the wording in your letter, leaves a little bit to be desired, and comes across as a little immature. That's just me seeing it that way, so take it as you will.

The other thing that jumps out at me, is you would probably also have to prove more than what you've seen so far. And by that, I mean that not everyone is suffering from it. More than average? Perhaps, but without knowing the exact numbers, you can't just blanket it by saying that it affects everyone. I haven't had any issues with it on mine, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who own the phone who haven't either. I don't mean to diminish the issue by saying it, I'm just stating it. For those affected, yes, it is annoying, it is a problem. Yes, I believe that there seems to be quite a delay in a fix being rolled out to address a problem that was introduced by the update. I'm just not sure if they'll find just cause to proceed with something of this nature at this point in time, especially if a fix IS coming in the near future.
