Hello,

Awhile back tried the FREE version of TI. I liked it. I then
rooted my EVO 4G. Then I downloaded

TITANIUM (star) ROOT
Titanium Track

as I now had a rooted EVO.

I then paid for the PRO version and unlocked the FREE version
with the key that comes with the purchase.

First, I don't know if the ROOT version is needed anymore as I have
granted root permission to PRO, of course.

Second, is the above ROOT version a *copy* of the real TI?

Third, the ROOT version keeps asking me to update it.
Why shoud I if

the current PRO version works just fine.

Thanks.

Titanium backup needs root permission to function. There is a free version and a pro version. Once purchased, you should always have the pro version. There are periodic updates to address issues and add new features. I would update to the newest version.

However, have you ever heard of this ROOT version I mentioned.

After you having said their is a free and pro version, it seems this
is not the case.

I am not sure what they are called now. but as I understand it you need to keep both.

the free version is the app itself and the pro version is the unlocker... I am not sure why the unlocker has updates, but it does and I update both apps with no issues.

also I thought Titanium back up was only for rooted phones... regaurdless of free or pro versions. but maybe that changed with the newer versions? not sure.
