UGH- my call duration is GONE after I installed the upgrade - anyone else notice this...

I used to be able to go to call log and see the date and time a call was made - and the duration of that call...
in addition - I could go to 'people>[person]>call log and see just THAT persons calls... WITH duration...

NOW - it just shows the data time the call was placed/received.!!!!!!!!

Sorry - HTC - EVO 4G
Android 2.3.3
kernel 2.6.35.10

and NOPE... the duration information is NOT there.
home>phone>log [button to left of 'phone' button - with phone handset/page icon]

brings up "CALL HISTORY" page which lists
picture, phone book entry (or UNKNOWN), phone number, date time, detail icon...

clicking the detail icon takes you to the history for THAT PHONE NUMBER...
and the duration USED TO BE HERE for every call...

BUT is no longer.... as a matter of fact I cant find the call duration ANYWHERE now (this change occurred AFTER I uprated sat.)

I'm moving this to the EVO 4G forum, it seems to be specific to this upgrade with Sense UI.

On stock Gingerbread i press phone>call log (tab to the RIGHT of the phone icon) and i get a list of missed, incoming and outgoing calls. If i tap one of the calls it brings up the details including date time and duration as well as links to send SMS or view all contact info.

I'm so upset about this upgrade.

I keep hoping someone will find the simple overlooked solution to this problem. If not, I am shocked such a critical piece of info is no longer available. First and foremost, the device is a phone, and call information should be logged. Google or HTC sure screwed up on this one. Is there somewhere or someone to complain to about this? My old treo logged this info. Android/ EVO seem to have taken a few steps back with this move.

Call Track disclosure says it "reads your contact data... " and "send(s) email to guests". What is up with that for a work around?

While I don't disagree that this is useful information, I think you have to lay this squarely at the feet of HTC, since stock Gingerbread still displays the call duration and time.

Hi everyone! After updating my Sony Ericsson Xperia ARC to 2.3.4, i'm unable 2 check da call duration. The log only shows the tym @ which I called the number. So plz help me wid dis.
Kind Regards

No one has worked harder to find out what will be done about this. After weeks and months of emails and calls, you can forget about it. They will not fix it and do NOT care even a little bit. No question, this lack of concern about this problem has been proven to me. You are fortunate that is all you lost. I lost a lot more than that.

Wish I had better news.

Hi all,

I am using cyanmodgen port for a different phone but noted the same thing happened to me.
However, I found a kind of workaround to see call duration time, if you flip your call detail screen from portrait to landscape, WOW!!! you can see along with the call time the call duration at the top title panel.

Hope this helps...:)

Regards

How I was hoping this would work.. alas, my EVO4G does not go landscape in phone mode or call history of any screen. Thanks anyway, though.

Thanks for the reply. There is no way to see the ROM version, right? I do not see it in "about phone". The auto-rotate is either checked or not, no other options there. Of course it is checked and still will not rotate in phone mode of any kind.

I know your phone is able to rotate screen, don't know which ROM are you using, for example, cyanmod custom ROMs use a phone app other than stock and it has it own setting for not rotating while in phone app and call, along with a global rotation setting too, may be you need to activate all of them...

Thanks again. There is ZERO support from HTC or anywhere else on this or the many other problems caused by the 2.3.3 upgrade such as rebooting randomly and intermittant mic. operation into speech to text. All these went haywire after the upgrade. Thanks again! I will get a new phone that works eventually. I thought so highly of this phone in 2.2 version. Too bad they fixed what was clearly not broken.

No, I really don't know on your phone, mine shows as you stated.

Hope you find a way out... :)

The update to 2.3.5 released earlier this week solved all the issues you mentioned. Search my post history to see I confirmed this.

The Speech to Text mic operation is an app in the market from Google called Voice Search that was updated back in June 2011 after the 2.3.3 broke it.
