Root Deodexing GB .596???

I found the 596.zip Deodexer..

in thread is Says to install through CWR. But do I use Droid X or Droid 2 Bootstrapper?

when I installed the 2 part GB update that was rooted I had to use the Droid 2 Bootstrapper. I assume once I install it I will be able to install themes and such right?

So to understand:
- Download the Deodexer.zip
- transfer it to the the phone (root on SD)
- get to CWR with Droid 2 Bootstrapper
- Install Zip
- 3 to 5 min wait on boot up.

Repeat above with the Theme zip of choice?

Thanks I edited my list above.. does that look correct?

Then once done use CWR with the Theme of Choice ( for me Watermark'd) I miss that from my D1

Around 5 minutes or so for applying the theme yes. The deodexer file no.....should boot within a minute like usual.

Deodexed tonight, (did a backup prior to it though) took a couple minutes on the boot screen eye though. Seems fine..

Next step apply a theme.. then I am done for a while

I have the watermarked theme jeff. Great them so I wanted to give you a heads up. Should you have any problems after flash WM download his revert-to-stock 596 file and flash it. Then reflash the theme. That will fix ya up. But that's just if you have any trouble with running the theme.

to be sure I am clear,

1) flash WM
2) flash Revert to Stock
3) flash WM

Only do Steps 2 and 3 if I have issues after step 1?

What troubles have there been to require the reflash? just curious on what to watch for..

Force closes.....apps not working.......apps not running right.......apps freezing ......phone rebooting for no reason. Just to name a few. And yes, you got it right.

Sounds like it is pretty obvious if there is an issue

Droid X bootstrap works just fine, you just have to uncheck debugging.

Force closes.....apps not working.......apps not running right.......apps freezing ......phone rebooting for no reason. Just to name a few. And yes, you got it right.

My X rebooted every few minutes after installing .588. I did a factory reset (which I hated to do) but not one reset since.

That's Kinda what the revert-to-stock file is. A factory reset file so to speak.
