Does NDS or/and N64 work on the Asus EEE pad transformer?

Hi,

Just a simple question. I hope someone having this tablet could help me out.

In the market there is an app called NDS4DROID, does that app work with a NDS game (e.g. Mario kart) on the tablet? You could also just download on the internet, and there is another app TIGERNDS, which you could only get by internet downloading. Is any NDS game working on the tablet?

And there is also N64droid, does that work with (e.g. Pokemon Stadium) on the tablet? N64droid has recently been removed from android market. But it is findable on the internet.

I hope someone could help me out.

you can use n64oid and the various roms and also the PS3 controller if you want. Havent tested the other emulators yet

I havent tried any NDS emulators, but the version of N64Droid that was on the market works happily on my Transformer, have only really played Mario and Legend Of Zelda OOT.

Thats's nice. But does it lag. (lag= Slow graphics)
And could you or someone else test nds emulators

okay, but what about the NDS emulator. Just google: Nds4droid or TigerNDS and download it. And then go to coolrom(google it) and download a NDS rom, like mario kart.
I cant test this myself, cause I dont own a tab myself

Still an open question: does NDS work on the transformer?

New questions:
-What does IPS mean? (touchscreen?!)
-Is there a benchmark for which tablet is faster- like Transformer vs. Iconia A500 vs. Xoom?
-Is the 3.1 update better than the standard 3.0?
-What are the differences between those two versions?
-I've seen on youtube that you can connect a controller to the tablet, (by wire and/or bluetooth) - Q: Are the PS3/XBOX360/WII controller all USB? or bluetooth? or does it use an other connection than usb, or maybe wifi.
-Is the Adobe Flash player able to play games without lag.
-Does the rear camera have a (LED)flash?
-What if you have the tablet rooted, is it better- what are the new functions?
-In Android 3.1, what is supported by the USB port?
-How long does the battery last with lowest brightness and WIFI,BT,GPS turned off?
-Is it better to only use it at home or also outside like in train or bus?
-I've heard that if you stand outside with the tablet on full brightness, that you can't see anything? How to solve it?
-What is multi-tasking on a tablet? (i've a phone(android2.2), if i start e.g. AngryBirds and I press HomeButton and start e.g. Android Market and then press homeButton, then I want to open angrybirds again- but the app has restarted then, so I couldnt continue from where i was , is this the same on tablet?)

I'll try and answer your questions to the best of my ability, if you have any more number them, makes it easier for us

- IPS is a screen technology that makes the screen really beautiful and colours stand out. Same quality as the iPad 2.

- Transformer, Iconia A500 and Xoom have the same specs and are all on par with speed.

- Yes, the 3.1 update makes the device MUCH smoother.

- Check out the (unofficial) changelog : [INFO] Firmware update (FOTA) changelog - xda-developers

- PS3/Xbox 360 controllers are USB (wireless ones don't work) and the Wiimote is bluetooth. All should work fine.

- Yes, a tip is to download the Kongregate Arcade app. It has about 500 special mobile versions of flash games. Newgrounds.com works fine too. If I had the dock I would try the keyboard on the flashgames as well but my guess is that that works fine.

- No flash, does take beautiful pictures though, better then expected. Somehow better then my Desire too.

- I haven't got my TF rooted, but from rooting experience it opens up a whole new world of possibilities, you'll have to check this out: Eee Pad Transformer Android Development - xda-developers

- Supposedly everything, I can't test it though. Mice, keyboards, controllers, USB sticks and drives should work.

- They tested it on 60 percent screen brightness and playing 720p movie nonstop and got 9.5 hours. I've recently got 7 hours on heavy usage, with differing screen brightness from 70-100. I don't think it'll be that fun to use the tablet with 0 brightness, but it'll probably last more then 10 hours.

- If you have the screen brightness on 100 it is usable outside, but that's my personal opinion. The viewing angle is really bad outside though. Inside is where the device shines and the screen is awesome (for viewing with multiple people as well)

- That's personal opinion really, it also depends on your eyes. I can see the screen just fine with full brightness outside, even in direct sunlight.

- Multitasking works great. You never have to close an app because Android manages it for you. But do keep in mind that certain apps do need to be closed, like some Tegra 2 games and most emulators.

- A bit, not noticeable.

- Check out the Tegra Zone: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nvidia.tegrazone&feature=search_result. I have loads of games working great.

- Not all of them work, but the ones you mentioned (YOO Ninja and Doodle Jump) work.

- No, there are only a few Gameloft games working but people are still experiencing issues with those even.

- It is great, I for one use it as a laptop. I can do anything with it that I would do on my desktop.

- Things I think that lack are smoother animations when rotating and a fix for crashing apps.

- 9.5, but I'm an Android fanboy mind you. If Asus or Google would finally solve the apps crashing for no reason and make the transitions smoother I would give it a 10.

I'm going to buy this tablet too w/ keyboard and 16GB. (thats why i asked a lot of questions). The reason why I buy 16 GB, is that its cheaper and you can just put a 32GB microSD in it.

That is an old comparisation video. The video playback is smooth now. I use a program to convert my movie files into compatible files for my TF. The video playback does look a bit grainy sometimes, can't tell why.

You can use the 16 GB onboard memory for anything you like. If you plug it in to your computer you can put files on it and use the device at the same time.

Android puts the onboard memory up as SD card AND internal memory at the same time. So apps that try to write to SD card will end up writing to the onboard memory. The actual SD card you put into your device is recognized as something different, they list it as "removable storage". That removeable storage is NOT for apps2sd.

Fruit Ninja THD is 27.01 MB, the biggest app I've got is 473 MB. This is because it downloads seperate game files after you install it. If you use your SD card for media you should be fine.

Android 3.0 is really different from 2.2, it's far better for tablets. The notification system works really well for the screen size, so do Honeycomb optimized apps. I really can't list differences here, but trust me it works for tablets.

Not AT all, this tablet is better then the Xoom because of the great screen. I will also be getting the dock in about 3 weeks, I don't see the Xoom or iPad having one. Future tablets will of course be more powerful, but if you wait, there will always be something better on the horizon.

There's no info on the next version of Honeycomb yet, but the next major release will be Ice Cream Sandwich and it will put tablets and phones into one OS.

You could opt for the Eee Pad Slider, which has a keyboard on the tablet itself. Or you could go for Toshiba's new tablet or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. But the differences are really not that big. You could also go for a Notion Ink Adam, which has a screen that serves as a normal screen and paper-like screen for outside viewing. It also has a camera that can point forward, upward and backward.

The app was "Great Battles: Medieval". Don't worry, most apps are 5-50 MB.

I thought the same size. 10.1'' inch.
But the sides of the screen of the asus is bigger, which doesnt really matter for me.
But the XOOM doesnt have IPS.
What also is nice about the TF is 10finger multitouch.

Screen size and resolution is the same but the screen is were the TF really stands out. The bigger sides are actually useful for your fingers to rest on. Multitouch is fun for gaming with friends, especially the multiplayer mode in fruit ninja THD.

I have no idea if it's getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update. But I imagine you would be able to get it from the root community if it wouldn't be available officially.
