Any updates or fixes on this. Nothing I do will allow me to sync on my Sprint Hero. I've used all the same settings that were on my Blackberry to no avail. This is ridiculous.

Slightly OT but still related to Exchange on Hero. It appears that my Hero is now Syncing ALL Inbox (*which I want) and ALL Sent items (which I don't want) into the Hero.
I have a problem with my Exchange ActiveSync:
I just sent an email from the phone but going through all the folders I can't find it! It's not in sent items, not in outbox, not in drafts, it's nowhere.
I checked my exchange activesync webmail on my computer and I find it in the Sent items folder in there! Why isn't it in my phone?
Maybe because the sent items won't have synced. Have you tried hitting refresh in sent items?
Really wish it would just sync all folders every time! My old WinMo HTC did.
Cool - my first solved case!
Thanks. Now I have to go back and solve the other 20 problems with the phone.
I finally got a reply from HTC themself. They said to...
The issue your having is cause your device maybe requiring a certificate to operate the server on your device. A work around for this issue would be to open up the browser on your device. Type in the address for your OWA Server and login. Once you have logged into your OWA server on the device. Go back to the Exchange Server on your device and hit refresh. Your device will then synchronize correctly with your exchange server.
Hi,
I have had the same problem. After I used the TouchDown (www.nitrodesk.com) application it seemed to work.
But I finally found out what the problem is.
The HTC HERO Android operating system has got the problem with some MS Exchange policies.
Now if you have (normally every company has) enabled that you have to give a password to connect to your company email you will fail on your HTC HERO.
This is because atm the HTC HERO is missing something that can send back your encrypted password etc..
So here is what u need to do:
Go to your Exchange server (if you can not do it yourself ask your system admin) and go to the properties of the Mobile Services > On the general Tab open de "Device Security". On the Device Security tab you can see that "Enforce password on device" is enabled. This is causing your problem!!... Now you do not want to disabled this for your entire company but you can exclude yourself from having to enter a password to read your email. So go to "Exeptions" and have your domain\username filled in there.
Problem solved.
I was able to sync my Exchange email for a few weeks and then it suddenly stopped syncing and showed the sync error and wouldn't update my mail, calendar, or contacts. Any ideas on a reason why it would work for a while and then stop?
Did you change your domain password?
