Help No smart dialing or speed dial on Froyo?

Got the update, and my dialer has no speed dial options or smart dialing (wher eyou can type the contactsname to call them)

Is there a way to get this back? If you have root, can you replace the dialer.apk or the contacts.apk? Could anyone pull those APK's off a 2.1 and give it a shot or post them here?

Seems silly for an android phone in 2011 not to have feature found on dumb phones in 1998.

It provides its own software keys. I don't really use the hardware keys for phone calls, but I gave it a quick test and it appears the alpha keys work for searching by name, but the numeric keys caused some strange behavior.

The app is free, so there's no risk if you want to try it out and see how it works for you.
