Music Beta Issues

I just got my invite for Google Music Beta and so far it is working nicely when it comes to the web app on my computer. I still have my music stored on my Droid X, so that is all my Music player is showing. None of my cloud music is showing up on my phone and i made sure the setting allow it to. I downloaded the music beta app before I got the invite so maybe this could be the issue. I uninstalled it and redownloaded it and am still having the same issues. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

I have the same issue. I have synced all my iTunes music but when I open Google Music Player on my phone nothing shows up.

I tried all the fixes. I uninstalled/reinstalled. I tried clearing the data but nothing happens.

I got my invite with a google account but not a gmail account. Not sure that should be an issue.

Google says to hit menu on the app and go to settings. Well, I hit menu and all I get is shuffle all and search.

Also, I added my optonline.net account through gmail and auto synced it but only contacts shows up to sync. Neither the gmail account I have (but do not use) or the optonline.net account show the ability to sync music.

They also say you need openGL 2.0 but I have no idea if the Dinc has that. I would hope it does.

Any way to check this out?

I too installed Google Music prior to getting my beta invite and I just checked Menu->Settings and I had an option to allow my Google account and then select my usual login. Not sure why yours isn't showing up for you but mine is. I uploaded music already via PC so maybe that had something to do with it? I didn't do much else with my phone so I'm not sure what the difference is.

As an update, several hours later and a few hairs less on my head the app started working correctly and all my songs were synced up. Very strange. I have no explanation what happened. I did not do a factory reset and I had tried unsuccessfully to uninstall/reinstall the app.

It just all of a sudden worked. I guess no reason to ask why. I am just happy it works.

I pinned about 300 songs for offline and man that takes a lot of time to finish and killed my battery along the way but cool that it is now available to me anytime.

How do you tap individual songs for offline use? I didn't see an option but maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Someone said something about uploading their entire library then caching new downloads locally sort of like creating a playlist for your new downloads that you would most want to listen to. Sounds like a pretty good idea. Maybe create a 'NEW' playlist and then just cache that locally and have it so when you remove a song (tired of it) it just automatically un-caches to free up storage space.

This Android app desperately needs an option to upload songs and edits songs from the device instead of needing to use a PC. I'm sure it will come once out of beta but I'm hoping it happens sooner than later since I use my phone to download all of my songs. As it is I have to transfer to my PC and then upload to Google Music which defeats the purpose for me since I don't keep songs on my PC anymore.

I actually tagged an entire playlist. I long pressed the playlist and there was a check box for offline. I just checked and it looks like I can only do offline for playlists, albums, and artists. There is no option for individual songs.

Kind of strange.

Ah, ok. So you can indeed create an entire playlist for new songs and then tag it for offline use. Good to know.
