Oh.. Ok then ;)
I'll do it tomorrow, it's dark outside right now ;)

BTW: the stock ROM gives a Quadrant score of 1000+ with apps running in the background and about 180mb~ RAM consumption ! :O

It's a leaked ROM, and i don't know if kies will detect it as the correct firmware or not, but my guess is that when 2.3.4 officially comes out for Ace, it surely will :p
I'd say it is safe, i successfully flashed and rooted it without any problems and also removed those annoying stock Apps from Samsung (Book Store, Hangman etc..)
No problems yet, except the same unlock screen lag.. also performance is much, much much better than Villain ROM and KPE :D (refer to Quadrant screenshot :D )
plus the annoying screen marker on homescreen disappears after screens are changed :D
Also Camera quality is better than KPE :)
It actually gave about 1230~ quadrant score after flashing, but of course after installing a buttload of apps, it came down a bit..

do 2.3.4 still come with those extra 3 Europe apps musicstore, bookstore and another forgotten the name. i don't like those 3 apps so i downgrade back to 2.2.1

Yes it does, and you can remove those apps after rooting your phone..
Remember, i am not at all responsible if you brick your phone doing it..

  1. remove sd card from phone and use pc to create new folder on sd card

call your network provider and ask for service settings to be sent to your phone....should solve your problem ;)

All sorted, now all I need to do is root it and I'm at a loss,

I tried the upd_1 way and my phone wouldn't open it(even after renaming it)

Any help here for a total noob at rooting, can someone point me in the direction of walk thru's.

Thanks

Ok going back to my texting problem that I thought I had solved,i now know why I thought I had solved it.

Since updating to 2.3.4 I am only able to send texts out with the wi fi turned  as soon as its in packet data they all fail to send.

I'm totally baffled by this,I think i'm going to flash back to 2.2.1 tomorrow because that is one hell of a bug for me.

hmm i think its slow when i click the lock button it takes like 3 seconds for the screen to show :S

Yeah that was a bug in both 2.3.3 and VillainROM and is still there, otherwise there are no bugs..

@atkifit
Lol dude there's a lot of difference in performance, i also tried antutu and it gave me 1342 whle earlier it was 800 or something...
Also someone on xda got 70.3 fps on neocore..
Plus the battery life is just awesome now.. If you dont see much of a change, then try re-flashing
