Root Full MR2 update

No apps being pushed. What does that mean. I see the Charge has a real update coming. Why is the Thunderbolt being disrespected? I guess it is 1st protocol to have the Droid name and or stamp to get some respect from Verizon. They have a lot of goodies coming their way. How can a Samsucks/Samskum device get more love than the Thunderbolt. Oh yeah, a mother nurtures its young and as the commercial robot says: Drooiddd

Are you kidding? The thunderbolt has already had an ota update. How are we getting disrespected?
Compare our update to the the Charge. It just came out and they have update ready, already. I feel we deserve some of that love the Charge is receiving, like better battery towards phone calls for to me that and data is what kills battery the most. Would you not like that, and note the update for the Thunderbolt never once addressed its battery life.

Not to mention our update was garbage and the cause of mass reboots.
Good news that our second updates on the way.

Has anyone tried this RUU? I am not experiencing the reboots but if this update makes netflix works I will flash it. I've also been getting slow response with my 4G recently and I wonder if this update will fix that

I hope someone can confirm this fixes GPS as well. I (my wife) has a NIB TB that i hasve to setup today (remotely as she is out of town). I hope the new one has the old OS on it. if it reboots, then I will have her install the MR2......

Ok. I have installed it. From first observations, it appears to have fixed the GPS issues. GPS appears to lock much quicker now. Using GPS Status, I get GPS lock under 2-3 seconds. Prior to loading the RUU, the phone rebooted 3x this morning. Obviously, the phone needs to run a few days to see if the reboot issue has been solved. The My Version Mobile seems ok. My account status came up fine. The phone appears faster but that might just be me "reading" too much into what's going on.

Therefore, first impressions it does appear to have added some improvements to the phone. However, only time will tell.

MR2 update installed on my thunderbolt for 3 hours. No reboots (only had one in the past). GPS lock is fast (normal). Working perfectly so far. If anything pops up I will come back and post.

I should mention that web browsing, google voice, newsrob, etc are not syncing over 4g but sync perfectly over the wifi's. It appears there is an issue with the 4g network here in socal so I'm not worried.

Man, I really want to install it to try it out. I don't care about losing data on the phone or anything like that. I don't want it to end up causing any problems or something down the road though, like preventing me from getting another OTA down the line.

I have the same fears you do. That is the reason I usually don't root and rom my phones.

I did this exact same this with my incredible a week before the OTA came out. No issues. I feel very confident that the thunderbolt will be the same.

I have a crazy perhaps stupid question... for those of us non-rooted who did not install the first update, will we still get the good parts of the original update like the video sound fix etc. if we just install this new update? Or will I need to run the original before this one drops or does no one know? Any pvm or pwvm fix with the update?

I installed yesterday and am running Perfect Storm 1.5 ROM. So far I really like it but I can't make any changes to framework (hate the battery with numbers as it hurts to actually watch it decrease one by one) :)

Thinking about trying this with BAMF 1.7. Anyone else work it? So far I can tell the difference from when I had this phone a month ago. I am really liking this phone.
