I was wondering what the thoughts were on this device and possibly streaming 3d content direct to the 3vo. I'm sure folks smarter than me can tell me if it's possible. If it is this might push me over the top in regards to purchasing a slingbox device. Currently there is a slingbox app on android, but I've never used it to know it's full capabilities.

Being able to stream 3d content through slingbox would be cool but honestly slingbox is worth it for what it is right now. I have been slinging for about 5 years now and its awesome, you should definitely get it regardless of whether you can stream 3d content or not.

The best Slingbox available only supports input resolution up to 1080i and doesn't have an HDMI input.

So the next two questions are:

Do you need 1080P input into the slingbox to stream 3D content?

Can you view 3D content via component (analog) input?

And even if the answer is yes to both of those, minimum upload speed at the Slingbox needs to be 3mb for you to test it. From the slingbox website:

" Tune in to 1080i HD - Viewers can watch their favorite shows in stunning HD over the Internet on their PC or Mac, desktop or laptop, around the home or around the world.

*Requires a high-speed broadband connection with 3 Mbps or greater bandwidth"

This why I decided to save money and go with the Slingbox Solo. I figure by the time an ISP offers those kind of upload speeds in my area, there should be a new Sligbox model that supports HDMI. Fingers crossed waiting on Verizon Fios

And bandwidth doesn't matter if a digital (HDMI) signal source is needed for 3D

And neither of those matter if 1080p is needed for 3D

Slingbox Pro HD does not support HDMI and doesn't support 1080p.

I'm sure the answers are on Google somewhere..

Summarizing....I doesn't matter how nice any of your other components are because
the slingbox will downgrade your source to analog/1080i before it uploads the video
to the internet.
