not in a 4G area

Yes, it'd be a good idea. You'll definitely notice an improvement in battery. I live around a 4G area (don't get it everywhere I go) and I keep 4G turned off all the time. If I need fast data speeds I'll switch back real quick. Download THIS. IIRC, It's made by Jcase and he's extremely trusted and respected within the Android community

Though that is a great app for turning off the LTE connection....it's merely a shortcut to a native function in the phone.

Open your phone, and on the dial pad, hit "*#*#4636#*#*"

It'll bring a menu of options, go in to "phone info", and you've got the screen that the LTEOnOff app bring you to.

To answer the original question, yes, definitely turn it off!

Forgot to add for those who are rooted, there's a zip floating around that adds "Radio Settings" to your Wireless Networks menu (gets added between your WiFi and WiFi Settings) I'll post it if there's interest in it

Also, I see no point to dialing to get to radio settings when there's a great app and zip that both offer much quicker access. To each his own, though

The only point would be if you didn't want to have an app installed. Granted it's a super small app, but, I uninstalled it since it's not needed. As for the zip--I can't speak to that cause I haven't tried it.
