Here comes the newb

Hello all! I am really excited to be here. I have been browsing the site for the past 2 days now as an unregistered guest so, I decided it was time to register. I was brought this site because it was the first site that popped up when I typed "Best android forum" on google. So I thought I would go with the best of the best, not to mention I just bought my first android phone, the LG Revolution a few days ago.

I love my revolution it's fast slick and has a huge screen. I love the android os. Its a nice little change to iOS that I was accustomed to on my iPod touch.

I really have an interest of rooting my revolution in the near future. However I'm nervous about it. I know if I pay attention everything will go fine but the last thing I need is a $250 brick.

It's not like jail breaking an apple device where if something goes wrong you can restore it and everything is fine.

I'm sure will grow the balls to do it.

Anyhow, probably just made the longest introduction ever and lost half the people who will ever read this, thank you all in advance for the help and support for helping me with all of my android needs.

Actually, it's very hard to brick a modern phone. And you can restore most rooted phones back to stock without much effort.

...probably just made the longest introduction ever...

I'm glad to know its" hard" to brick. What exactly would lead to a brick. I mean I have common sense just curious.

The most common way to brick a phone is to interrupt power during a flash procedure. So, don't flash a custom rom during a thunderstorm and don't get impatient in recovery mode and pull the battery because you think the phone is locked. Attempting to install a rom that was not meant for your phone can also render it bricklike, but in some cases can be recovered.
