Anyone had luck with early upgrades recently?

Almost exactly one year ago I extended my contract for another 2 years when I got my myTouch Slide. The phone has served me very well, but I really want to upgrade to the HTC Sensation. Has anybody had luck recently getting the fully discounted upgrade pricing early? As much as I want the Sensation I just can't justify paying the full unsubsidized price. I have no problem with adding on another 2 years and being contracted for 3 years total. I've been with T-Mobile for almost 10 years now so I don't see myself leaving any time soon...

I upgraded my g1 to the g2 in november or october? (When ever g2 came out) and I had barely had the g1 for a lil over the year and I was able to upgrade at the discounted price (of course addidng 2yrs to my contract but I don't mind). I been with tmobile for about 5yrs now. So hearing that u been with them for more than me you might get lucky. So why not give it a try

Ok so finally after reading this thread..it made me want to call and see if I was eligible for an upgrade (knowing I haven't even had my g2 for a year) I talked to customer service and she said depending on the customer's credit with them (as in making ur payments on time) some qualify for an "early upgrade" after a year of their last upgrade with is 20% off the retail off a phone..but after 2yrs you qualify for a "full upgrade" which is in her own words "70 or even 80% off retail price for the phone"

Soooo yeah there u have it..I barely have 8months with my g2..I wanted the g2x :( or even the sensesation..guess I have to wait 4more months and see what newer phones are out there

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile. Customer Service was only able to offer me the Sensation for the same partial upgrade price of $384 that the website offered. I called back and the Customer Loyalty department was able to get me the phone for $291.12 out the door, including tax. :D I just had to agree to a 24 month contract which actually only adds 1 year to what I was already contracted for. If you've been a customer for a while (about 8 years for me) call them and ask to talk to Customer Loyalty; they have the authority to give you better discounts.

What is the word that you are using? I just finished a call with Customer Loyalty, and 384 was the best price that they can give it to me. (before the tax), so after that, it will end up with 384+45.

PS: 7 more months to be eligible for full upgrade.

$384 is the best Customer Service offered me too. I had to ask to be transferred to Customer Loyalty where they got me the better price due to my tenure with T-Mobile. I guess they figure if you show them loyalty, they'll show you the same. :) How long have you been with them, and are you sure you were talking to the Customer Loyalty department, not Service?

Same here on the $384.99. That was after talkning to everyone including customer retention! I had my phone stolen and they actually told me I should cancel and pay the $200 ETF and get a new customer2 yr. deal/ discount thru another carrier to get the best deal. I was VERY disappointed and shocked.

Then, I went into the actual T-Mobile store and dealt with a very understanding and helpful sales rep. He couldn't get me the phone (sensation) any cheaper, but thru a few plan revisions he did save me $30 a month on my family plan. That definetly saved my last shred of respect for this company.
