Hi there,

I only use mobile internet when away from home and I turn it manually on/off when I need to to save battery and to stop charges in case I go over my limit. Sometimes, I forget to turn it off when I've finished using it. I was just wondering if there was an app to turn off mobile internet after a certain time eg. After 10 minutes?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice :)

Well, I use juice defender my self. Its not exactly what you're looking for, but it can be set so that when you enable mobile data, it will only be kept on for X minutes of every X minutes. I have one minute per 15, but you can it to be less often.

There's also tasker, which lets you trigger events upon certain conditions. You could have it set the mobile internet to time out after 10 minutes of the screen going off I'm sure, but you would have to set it up your self.

Although I don't actually have it at the moment, I was going to suggest Tasker... from what I've read everywhere, it sounds like it would do the job... yes, you'd have to set it up, but only the once!!

Welcome to the forums!

Greenpower can do it, but I hear it's caused problems since the Gingerbread update.

However, if you go Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile networks and take the tick out the box which says "Always On Mobile Data", I'm pretty sure that will do what you're looking for.

Was just looking on my phone, as I was sure that there was a way to do it... knew you'd know though El P!! ;)

I'd definitely recommend Tasker. Installed it myself yesterday to turn off mobile data when I'm at home due to it switching between the two too often. Works like a charm and is so powerful.

Thanks so much to everyone for their ideas.

El Presidente, can you explain what "Always on" means? Does this mean if its on it will fetch emails etc according to settings in the apps, however if it is off that it will oy turn on if I request an app to do something? I'm a little confused.

Thanks again x
