What's the difference here?

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two tablets, other than the battery being 8000mah on one, and 6400mah on the other? Both are flashed with Froyo firmware, so that's a plus. I have an older pad with Android 2.1 on it, with the 2 TF-card slots, and I'm looking to upgrade. I think I may have purchased a rip off tablet, but luckily it has worked fine. I haven't been able to root it, nor update it at all tho. That's the main reason that I'm looking to go ahead and purchase a new tablet. I'm not extremely familiar with these tablets, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

32gb iBex FacePad - Froyo Android 2.2 Tablet PCs - Gps Apad - Flash 10.1

The specs are very similar... the Facepad has more social networking apps installed

Yea, I noticed that also. I'm really wondering more about the legitimacy of the quality of the tablets. That's what I'm looking for. I've seen different people in different forums saying different things about, "if u see "this" in the tablet description, then it's a fake" or "if you don't see "this" in the item description, then it's a fake". I guess the market has been flooded with so many "fake" tablets, that it's hard to know what your getting. That's what I've picked up on anyway. The tablet I have right now, under the tablet specs, under "Build Number", it has SAWEE Pad. I've seen where that was stated as a rip off tablet too.

I really do think that there is WAY TOO MUCH rubbish floating about concerning 'fake' and 'rip off' and 'clone'.

The name FLYTOUCH is not copyright, they are all valid tablets. There are not 'low quality fakes', just made to the same specs from the same components by different factories. This is how Chinese manufacturing works.

In your case however, the internal construction of the SAWEE model is different to the DISCO model, the sawee has soldered in flashRoM and a 9 volt power supply whereas the disco models have an internal TF slot and a 5 volt supply.. As there appear to me many more disco units than sawee models most of the 'support' wont apply to you

So the question becomes not 'Where can I buy a genuine facepad' but instead I think you should be asking 'which seller sells which model facepad' (assuming that there is a SAWEE model facepad!).......perhaps you could email any perspective seller to ask which model they would supply, and not be happy until they replied either disco(10) or sawee(10)

I Highly agree. When I bought mine, I did see the screen shots say DISCO so it seems that it should be the most supported. I bought the cheapest I could that included shipping. I think I was pretty successful but I had to wait nearly a month to receive it.

IMHO, the difference among FT3 is the cost and speed of delivery. Waiting a month for something shipped from China was a little unsettling. I had my concerns about getting ripped off by a business in a foreign country.

I do have a related question or thought. Are these ft3 actually made in different factories or are they simply purchased in bulk by distributors and their own packaging printed? Tim who is the famous writer of the ROMS has said that the factory refuses to share their source. If it is so proprietary, why do they all seem to have the same software?

My flytouch may very well be a 16gb Facepad. it came in a white box with superpad 2 printed on it. it has a single tf slot, runs DISCO10 and has a flat piano black back on it.
anyway i expect its the same. I installed tim4e as it was pretty useless out of the box and now its running pretty good.

the below pic is not taken by me, but an identical model to mine. box etc.

Reverse engineering perhaps?

My tablet reports being a DISCO10, while others are just DISCO so there are differences! I guess the different manufacturers/distributors could just rip each other off for the basis for their version of firmware!

Interesting, that does lead to some credibility to different mfr. Mine says DISCO which is what the IBEX shows. The details from the add clearly had a different name for the mfr than Ibex.
