Help Camera & Camcorder suddenly freezing

Out of the blue my camera started freezing when trying to use it. Camcorder does it too. Just goes to a blank screen and sits there. You can hit home button and it will go back eventually. But camera is not usable. I tried battery pulls, clearing data in App management, I reseated the SD card, but there's not much more I can do, I cant get into the camera app to check its settings.

I REALLY don't feel like doing a wipe and rebuild of the phone...Anyone have any ideas?

If your rooted, delete the camera apk and reinstall a new one. Im sure one of us can post one.

Have you tried installing another camera app and see if that works?

If your not rooted or another camera app doesnt work, a factory reset will most likely be needed..

Not ROOTED. Dont have the time for that stuff anymore! But tried EVERYTHING. Factory defaulted phone and tried camera first thing...still frozen. Ended up having to get it replaced. New one coming today.

did you take out the sd card and try the camera? not re-seat, but remove... since the camera requires the card to save pics, I would have suggested that.

I'm doubtful the camera is the problem.

Of course. Did all that ...thats elementery troubleshooting. Even tried another newly formatted SD card as well.

Its the camera ....trust me.
