Root what's the best ROM?

Upvote 0
using MIUI. Its unlike any other ROM ive flashed before. I like it so far, the UI is really nice. Going to try it out for a week or so, then i am going to try one of the ROMS that comes with Netarchy
yeah i checked on that. has a lot of features. i'm just not a fan of the color scheme. yeah i'm kinda anal like that, but i'm rocking the KingsROM with the Netarchy kernel & i'm loving it.

Agreed, been using it for the past week or so. Nothing wrong with the ROM per se because everything is running fine, but the color scheme needs some serious work. The stock color scheme for the notifcations and contacts are white font on a white background which makes it really hard to see. So i figured Id change themes...almost every theme is the same way: black on black, white on white, ugly on ugly.

Think Im going to flash something different. I searched xda...(maybe not good enough i guess) and couldnt find the kings ROM. How is it working out for you

EDIT: Nvm found it, but feel free to still comment on what you like most about it

think it would be easier to state what I don't like about it lol but it's fast, stable, & I'm digging the font scheme. I also love the lock screen either with a pattern or not. I also love the overall look of it. my only complaint is there isn't a toolkit for the ROM like I had with the Droid X or Ally, but that's nothing major. so far so great. it's not as customizable as some ROMs like the notification bar, but no biggie

I thought the MIUI rom had problems with MMS and 4g? And maybe calls? Or is that outdated information?

MIUI is a really attractive Rom, if for no other reason than how fluent and different it is. But yes, LOTS of small bugs and issues effecting each device differently.

If MIUI ever gets 4g and and App drawer, I will consider putting faith in it once more.

i haven't ran into any bugs with KingsROM yet after 4 days of having it. i can't wait until my devs get more things going for the S4G

There have been people who called and my phone didnt ring. I sorta attributed that to sprint service though, but i guess it couldve been the ROM as well. In any case ive been using the open soju ROM recently and it seems to be working great with the netarchy kernel. Still searching around, but I think this is probably the one i am going to stick with.

Only thing though is there is no tethering app included in the ROM. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good tethering app that came with their ROM?

Definitely recommend netarchy universal kernel with cyanogenmod 7. Netarchy kernel and stock are also good. Finally, MIUI ROM, which I do not like personally.

That's about all that I know, wish ACS would jump in the mix.

ACS has people on the ns4g for right now its just me and dreams, he has done a crapload of work on xda (pulldown toggles for stock aosp) and he is now working on porting teh 8 lockscreen mod from the epic.

i made the one click root and ported battery tweak. as for a rom, its kinda hard takin on cm7 :D

Running opensoju 2.6 right now, it's the only other ROM I've run besides stock, and have had no issues.
i was going to try that, but i didn't like the process of flashing it. i'm only comfortable with simply putting it on my sd, wiping everything, then flashing it. i had to mess with fastboot which i'm oblivious to so i left it alone lol
