AlphaRevX is a way to S-OFF HTC devices with the 1.xx bootloaders. Here is how I achieved S-OFF on my CDMA HTC Desire.

WARNING
While this method is likely to be more successful and quicker than unrEVOked, please be aware that there are bigger risks associated with S-OFF and as such you could end up with a permanent brick should it fail.

Prerequisites
Fastboot

Achieving S-OFF

1. Go to AlphaRev X - Make it your phone and download the software, currently available for Linux and Windows. It will ask you to generate a Beta key. Keep this window open, we will come back to it later.

2. Enable USB debugging on your phone.

3. Attach your phone to your computer

4. Run the AlphaRevX executable

5. Your devices serial number should come up, and it will ask you for a Beta key. Go back to the browser window you had open earlier. In the form available, enter your phone type, hboot version, and the serial number in the AlphaRevX window.

6. Take the Beta key you generated, and enter it into the AlphaRevX program, press Enter.

7. It should work it's magic, it will tell you if works or not.

Achieving Custom Recovery

1. Get fastboot at the bottom of the page here: HTC - Developer Center

2. Download clockworkmod recovery: HTC Desire CDMA Recovery:

3. fastboot flash recovery <recovery.img>
