"Connection problem or invalid MMI code" comes up after entering 99% of # codes in dialer????

Hi there, I have this annoying problem where basically I am being denied of using # codes, a simple example being #*06# in the dialer, and then after doing so it says "USSD running" and like 2 seconds later the message "Connection problem or invalid MMI code" appears. I basically can't enter anything in my phone dial with # or whatever. What is wrong?

it's actually really hard to tell since OP said they rooted it then flashed it 3 times after. they would have to flash with a firm and a specific kernel that maintains root so only OP would know this

Hi, I AM the OP lol. Erm I am not entirely sure about this - a bit of a noob. I really wished I hadn't rooted it now and flashed, etc. Is there a way I can get this phone to how it was when I first bought it - might sort my problem out.

Hello dynamic92, I ran into same problem and error message trying to enter these codes into my new Samsung Galaxy S2 International version phone. If you prefix the codes with an asterisk * first, then the it will work. Example: *#06# and it displays your IMEI. If you leave off the prefix * then it does not recognize the code and will give you that "invalid MMI code" message. Hope this helps anyone else out coming across this issue.

This may or may not be related to an issue that I am seeing with the stock GNex dialer when entering codes.

I've had a problem when switching my work extension over to my GNex via the dialer. Changing the DTFM tones does not address the problem for me (others report that it will). If that works for you, that's good. For those it doesn't work in addressing the issue it remains a problem.

I went ahead and posted over at Google Mobile Help with hopes of bringing some additional exposure to this problem.

I was getting MMI error when viewing call settings, and
"Error while searching for network" when try to search for a network.
On boot, it would show 2g/3g for a few minutes, but would not make calls.

A local TMobile store tested SIM on another phone, it could not get network.

They gave me a new SIM, all better.

use correct code for the appropriate network. If you have two sim cards then you can choose the wrong one and sent the code. You can watch the video from the id JNKT3UTffxo

This Is Quote Confusing Dx

Okay So I Have A Verizon Galaxy Note 3 (Bad ESN) Running Custom Rom (JasmineRom 2.4.1) Using A T-Moible Micro Sim Card Which Works :) My Issue Is I'm Running On H And H+ On My Data And Want To Get 4G LTE Speeds; The Only Way I Found Is To Access Through Service Mode Which All Of Sudden When I Use The Codes I Get "Problem With Connection Or Invlaid MMI Code" I Looked All Over The Internet For A Solution And It's 2:30AM In The Morning Very Tired ... zZzZzZzZ. If Someone Can Help This Would Be Great :D (Btw) First Time Actually Commenting On This Website :)

P.S JasmineRom (Custom Rom I Flashed) My System Thinks I'm A Galaxy S5 Bit I Belive My Problem Has To Deal With MoI've Networks Or The Sim Card Which Calling And Texting Is Fine And So Is The H And H+ Data (H=3G. ||||||H+=3.5G )
