Now, here's the deal with this thread. There will be some reading to be done, so bear with me.
For a long time i have been strongly against tablets as I only saw them as over-sized phones (and I still do to some degree), but lately, after playing around with the iPad2 a little and the announcement of the Galaxy tab 10.1, they have sort of caught my interest, as the gadget freak I am. I can also see them being practical combined with work, school and of course while burrowing into the couch. Carrying a tab to and from work just seems like much less of a hassle than dragging my 17" laptop around, and the instant start up, easy connection and so on is really quite appealing to me. And from my experience, taking notes on a tab will eventually get almost as easy as on a PC (bear in mind that everything is relative).
I also have a Samsung Galaxy S2, that i can easily connect to various screens and so on, but it seems kind of dorky showing off a presentation while fiddling around with my phone, no matter how sexy the phone is. (Yes, I just called my phone sexy)
Now, to the part where i want your opinions!
My mind is pretty much set on what to do (not gonna tell you guys yet! ), but what do you see as pros and cons of owning a tab? Just let me know what you think about tabs as i really haven't heard a lot of people's opinions on it. Well... I have heard some apple fanboys ranting on about how epic the iPad2 is and that Android tabs suck, even though the iPad runs an "outdated" 4:3 screen format compared to most tabs' 16:9... Explain it to me those who can...
Don't get me wrong though, not "hatin'" on the iPad2. (Bothers me a bit that i have to defend every slightly negative thing i say about a product these days, as it'll otherwise bring on a flamewar of unknown proportions)
So, get going with the discussion already!
