Cool. It's about time. 8 megapixel camera with lED flash is a HUGE upgrade over this madness (Ascend). Plus, 2.3.3 with a possible upgrade in 2012.

The only thing I don't like is the shiny plastic back that will show every fingerprint and scratch easily. Can't we get some soft touch plastic at least? But 1.4ghz is super fast. Most of the dual cores are only running 1.2ghz stock.

That will probably be able to be alleviated w/aftermarket back covers.I found one for the ASCEND @ a local CRICKET store that has a neoprene backing.

The final product will probably reflect concerns as yours(hopefully).
Unless something like 4G comes to CRICKET, I'M GETTING THIS PHONE!

Yeah, I got a case for my Ascend because I couldn't stand the shiny plastic, but I really don't like using cases. But yeah, if I'm still on Cricket by then, I'll have to have it. Now I need something to hold me over until November... The Motorola Triumph is supposed to come out on July 19.

The neoprene case that I found wasn't so much a case,but,more like a back cover replacement for the stock back cover.I'm hoping something like this is available for the HUAWEI GLORY.

Especially if its coming out for both Cricket AND Metro. The Cricket only phones don't seem to build much of a following. The Optimus c forum is lucky to get a couple of posts a day. I would predict a powerhouse like the Glory will be a hit regardless, though.

Just the model# and info would be good if its not too much trouble. I'm not really sure how much longer I'll be using the Ascend.(as my main phone anyway, I'm still gonna keep it) It could be a couple of days or a couple of months lol. I'm itching to get something new, but I'm not having any problems with my Ascend, so I don't feel like I have to rush into anything.
I found another nice detail about the Glory. It has a GLASS screen instead of the crappy plastic. No more feeling like a second class citizen after playing with a "real" phone then going back to the cheap plastic screen on the Ascend lol. I doubt it'll be Gorilla Glass, but thats still a big step up.

Yeah, I'm looking to buy a Motorola Triumph as well and keep it until the Huawei Glory comes out. I wonder how much it will cost...

I have a feeling the that this phone will be 4G on Cricket because their testing 4G now and the phone doesn't launch to November. 4G testing explains such a late date.

I don't think think this phone will be 4g. The article says the first 4g products won't be available until 2012, and even then they will be starting with mobile broadband usb dongles before they get any 4g phones. I would rather wait until they have their network built up before trying it anyway. The Metro 4g network as it is now seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I'm glad to see that a lot of Ascend users are already planning on moving to the Glory! This forum is really my favorite thing about the Ascend, especially after looking through some other phones forums. I hope to see everybody at the Ascend family reunion in November!

Yeah, I'm looking to buy a Motorola Triumph as well and keep it until the Huawei Glory comes out. I wonder how much it will cost...

The Ascend x is $250 and it is basically the same phone. I would guess the Triumph would be about the same price. My only concern about the Triumph is the network. Everyone complains about how slow Sprints 3g is, and Virgin gets lower priority than the real Sprint customers...

While this is a SWEET phone, I still don't want to have to pay $300 for something my ascend can already do. A small contract (1yr?) or something like that would be nice, just to drop the price

your right about that. but when they do drop the price($150) im on it like ants on candy. until then im riden my ascend til they fall off
