I'm not. I think this is the perfect upgrade from my MT4G. I love Sense 3.0, I love the 8mp camera, & I love the 4.3" screen. The MT4G was great, but the Sensation is pretty darn rad.

ETA: The only thing I'm disappointed in is the speed. It doesn't really feel dual core to me. It is still plenty fast & gets what I need done in a hurry, but it's not as fluid as I would expect a dual core device to be.

I like this phone. I really do, but I think its going to get returned. Its just not wowing me at all. I'll just stick to the mt4g for now. Anyone else feeling kind of let down by this phone?

Too bad I sold the mytouch to buy this. Guess I can return this and by a new mytouch 4g. When I upgrade I like it to be a real upgrade and this is just eye candy with slightly diminished performance and way worse battery life. I just don't know about this phone. Gotta decided soon though.

From what I remember, it seemed like the LG G2x had smoother video playback for my sling boxes. This is my first time owning a "Sense" phone, and I like some of the widgets (but don't like that I can't re-size them), and the fact that I didn't have do download as much 3rd party software for certain functionality, but I'm debating whether the bigger screen and performance gain is worth the extra loot over my Defy (which has better reception, and 2-3 day battery life).

Don't get me wrong...Sensation is still a solid phone.

from the research ive been doing the sensation is clearly better then the mt4g and the G2x hands down. i heard battery life onthe g2x was disgusting, and sense gives you so much more customizations. who cares if the g2x is .5 seconds snappier then the sensation..the g2x is also ugly as hell compared 2 the sensation lol.

For me, regarding performance, its about video playback...I just remembered that watching the scrolling stock ticker, on CNBC, through my sling adapter, being smoother on the G2x. FWIW, I don't see the Sensation's battery lasting any longer than my G2x.

What I found surprising with Sense was the lack of scrollable wallpaper, and inability to resize widgets...shame, given how good some of them are. But as the OP stated, I also was looking forward to major changes compared to my girl's Inspire. I know there are many 3rd party options for many features, but there is something nice about "not having to go that route". I guess its a pick you poison situation with the mfgs. skins/UI.

But given the extra resolution, I was hoping for at least "5 rows, 4 columns".

The only draw back that i find with my sensation is that wii controller ime doesnt work with sense :( i mean i still find the sensation, sensational :) ***Im coming from the Mytouch3G with is the king of all lag phones to me. it even lagged more than my G1*** but the Sensation excels in all the tasks that i ask of it.

Its the Best camera i own ( i dont own a video camera that even shoots HD so its a big plus that it shoot 1080p)

4.3 in side screen with qHD display is pleasant on the eyes ( i can finally read on my kindle app with out having to stop every 15min because my vision goes blurry)

and all the other goodies that it come with like snappy browser and flash 10.1.3 i thats that the most current version....?

but yeah battery life sucks on all android phones but @ least i can get through a day with this one with mid-high use...

IDK i'm a happy camper :)

Maybe thats my problem. I went from mt3g to mt4g and was blown away. But coming from the latter to the sensation is just....meh.
Maybe I'll just keep it and wait for unlocked bootloader goodness top come around. I think that custom roms will make this phone shine like it should.

I'm sorry but I have actually had both the mytouch 4g and sensation 4g and you are wrong. The sensation is in fact not faster and in some cases it is slower. If you have never owned a mytouch 4g you really have no clue what you are talking about.

Btw the evo 3d (which has the same processor power) is faster too, there are videos on youtube by android central. There are software issues with the sensation "4g" (issues are not as bad or even exist on international sensation) on some small level.

mytouch 4G and LG2X can't compare to Sensation. Sensation is just a better phone. The ONLY phone that can go toe to toe CURRENTLY that is, is Samsung GS2. This is a lightning fast phone.

First off. Read what behold said. Also the g2x is also a solid phone. I've not once said the sensation wasn't: fast, nice, etc. I'm just staying that this phone doesn't have that WOW factor like it used to be when you got a new android power house phone.
People that just got this as their first android phone wouldn't understand where I'm coming from.

Edit: Had to pull out the laptop to check but I see you just joined the site so that leads me to believe this is your first Android phone. I'm not trying to be rude. In fact I plan on contributing and helping newcomers out regularly in these forums.

I just hope root/ROM comes to this phone quickly because my phone needs some dev love. Get a move on HTC!!!

I respectfully disagree:

I put the Defy on AT&T (gets 3G on 850 band) from time to time (my backup account)...this time, due to me picking up the Sensation. That pic was taken ~11pm last night, with battery still at 40% (phone taken off charger at 6am this Monday morning). It has (3) POP3, and (2) IMAP accounts polling every hour, along with weather, and I've browsed the net for a bit. It would probably go about 4-5 days as my standby phone, but after the 2.2 update, as my primary phone (i.e. actually making calls), it went from 24 to 48+ hours of "my normal use".

I almost went for the upgrade from myTouch 3G to the 4G.. but I was disappointed in the look of it when it came out.. Still I think it's a great phone. I then was severely tempted by the Atrix and was ohh so close to making the jump when the rumors of this phone came out.. So waited again.. I finally went for it the other day.. and I'm happy with it.. I'm sure that both myTouch 4G and Atrix owners might not be "as" wowed by it as I am coming from my 3G myTouch.. To each there own, I say use what works for you.. for me, for now, I am waiting to find fault in my purchase but I haven't so far.. love it.

I came from a cricket ascend, and so far i have to say i love this phone. All i need this phone for is call quality, pictures, and an occasional browse once in a while. I'm not a hardcore phone user so i don't need it to be extremely fast. And as for battery life i had this phone for 4 days and i've only charged it twice, so anyway yea i love this phone so far.

Use Launcher Pro.

Oh boy I think the Phone is definitely the new standard in the mobile device world. G2x is the speed demon when it comes to scrolling through your home screen. but to be honest the sensation is a monster. Beautiful design matched with the powerful processor and its ability to perform numerous tasks without faltering a tad bit just blows everything out or the water. I came from Samsung vibrant and i gotta say the sense is a much better fit for my personality than the plain iPhone style design.
