Rumored Launch Date=July 4th-July 8th

I dunno - don't you think if we were within 2 weeks of release they'd announce it by now? Or at least put it back on their website?!

I don't think they are releasing it then, but I figured I would add some thoughts on this. As far back as I can remember Verizon rarely announces when they are going to release their phones, yes sometimes they have them on their site even without a release date. Usually though we have leaks stating a date, and Verizon usually announces two days before release.

So just because we haven't heard from Verizon doesn't mean it won't be out in a couple of weeks. Honestly though I still think it is going to be a while for this phone.

Agree but they have test units sent out to get reviews done and these two phones nothing so I cant see them coming until mid-late july at the earliest.

I think all of the hub-bub and chatter is due to the tiered data plans a not a new device. Seems July is not a likely month for the Bionic, but the only people that know are a few in upper level VZW & Moto.

Still seems VZW are testing the "mid-level devices for premium prices" strategy and the ultimate time to test would be July, when tiered data kicks in. If the current 4G devices sell well in July,- WATCH OUT, since VZW customers may be forever stuck in that strategy, unless you buy their "true" premium device: The "iPown" 5.

VZW is sucking up REAL hard to Apple.... I wonder if there is smoking afterwards?.....

Let us hope the Bionic and the SG2 are equal to other carriers high end devices and not skimped down versions.... whenever they actually release.

Actually, I'm fairly certain test units HAVE shipped. That's how a lot of the specs were confirmed over on HoFo, and why all the benchmarks have been showing up.

NO they havent. Im talking about units to reviewers and what not. The few from twitter and that had a bunch of phones like the original but most of the specs came from a china or japan site.

There must be tightly controlled test units that Moto devs are using ATM. Catch is those folks will say nothing or risk losing their jobs.

Seems no way the release slips beyond August. I did say "seems".......

True.

The HTC Incredible was officially revealed by Verizon approximately 2 weeks before release.

So if it isn't announced by Sunday, I would forget about that July 4th-8th release date.

They need at least 2 weeks for pre-orders and all of that fun stuff.

I recall that same tweet well over a month ago when the "Bionic is canceled" rumors would not die. Seem NO WAY the Bionic is released in July. Wow- WHAT a line-up with the Droid 3 as the main device launch for the month.

You can tell VZW really supports Android and Apple is a distant thought ;)

hmm your sarcasm has me really confused. Run that by one more time?

In all fairness, it seems like the Droid 3 is going to be a pretty awesome device. Still seem to be quite a few people out there that aren't ready for 4G or 4.3". And there's def a vocal minority that don't want to give up physical keypads.

Yanno, this has me thinking. The LG Revo and DX2 both came out around the same time (if not the exact same time, can't remember). Could that mean that they'll do the same thing again? Seems feasible enough.

I'm gonna play with that thought (and it's exactly that, just a thought). What's more likely to drop first? The Bionic? We don't even have confirmed specs, let alone any idea when it might come out other than "this summer".

Now, we do know the specs of the SGS2. Hell, it's been out overseas for 2 months. Seems like it shouldn't be far away from a release. But, they wouldn't release the SGS2 and D3 at the same time (or close together), would they? Well, I think they might if one of them was LTE.

Now say it really isn't LTE. Then that would have to mean only one thing: the Bionic release would be immanent. And you gotta admit, two Droid options at the same time, one 3G and the other 4G, sounds rather intelligent.

Verizon, these are the Droids we're looking for.

PS: Took me almost two years to finally use that.

Very sound reasoning, but seems VZWs heart and soul is in Apple land.
