Is there no way to get the flashing LED notifications on the EVO?
This is something I dearly loved on my Droid as I would leave my phone silenced at work and just glance over to see if I had new notifications.

Also... just an opinion.. but I dont think I like the placement of the LED on the evo... seems odd through the ear piece screen.

Thanks!

well, with SMS popup i set it to red and it still didn't show red. hmm.

I have a Droid and it seems that the native LED is only green, but with handcent I can change the LED color in the notification settings and it works fine. My friend just got the EVO and I set hers up to have the LED flash on incoming SMS, but no matter what color I set it to it just flashes green. I feel like there has to be a fix for this, maybe on handcents end??

yes, i believe apps just need to be updated. i'm assuming the LED color change is set up different on our phones =/

but i'd totally like it to change sms to red or something. would be cool

I really dig Handcent for the popup notification type thing, Like I said on the 1st post I sit at work with my phone on silent (no vibrate cause its annoying when your phone is on a desk) so visable notifications are great for me, occasionaly I will miss the popup though so the flashing LED rocks.... hope it gets fixed.

I had trouble with this after updating to froyo - even a hard reset I couldn't get it to blink if I left handscent on the default setting. (default should blink the same rate as the stock)

Anyway shut off stock notification led then go into handscent settings and change LED flash frequency to custom - set the on time to 50 and off to 1500.

This looks pretty close if not the same as the stock flash. The other options in handscent don't even look close to stock flash even on fast setting so I use the custom.

I do notice my light seems to blink forever until I actually check the message which I personally like but not sure how to change that.

I use my WiMAX LED for my text messages, I have it alternating red and green. It still blinks when a text comes in and it's on the charger because it doesn't use the same LED as the normal one. You may want to check it out.

**I should mention that while i am rooted, you dont need to be to use this and it works with the stock messenger app**

before gingerbread, I could change the blink frequency, now I can only choose "led notification" and it blinks ever few seconds and I can never tell if it is a text or voicemail. makes me hate gingerbread!!! lol Anyone else having this problem

i'm having the same issue. I'm using handcent app for text messaging and i used to be able to have text message notification blink amber with a specific blink rate and e-mail blink green. now since i upgraded to gingerbread i only get one color (green). that WAS a very nice feature...not sure why it would be taken out with the upgrade. Lame
