Sprint Free Guarantee Scam??

So here's what I was thinking. As a new customer sprint offers you a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Instead of entering into a 2 year contract why would someone not just cancel every 29 days, get full refund on expenses and then get another sprint phone? You essentially would get a month to month sprint phone.

The common response woudl be you would be getting a new cell phone # each time, but if you have google voice you can alwasy use that as your phone # for all your friends and family to contact you so they will neve rknow you are changing cell phones....

Seems like a way to get a free cell phone and month to month service over and over and over again.

yes you still pay for the "service" you use for the month.

However if you didnt' want to committ to a phone or a 2 year plan you can do this month to month with no pentalty. You will pay the same amount any other sprint user does, lets say 70 bucks a month, but you won't be obligated to ever have to buy a phone, (you pick whichever you want for the 30 days) and won't ever be locked into a contract.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work. About 2 years ago I switched to Sprint. We got a couple of decent flip phones that didn't get reception in a few places, so we returned them within 30 days and returned to our old carrier. 6 months later our regional carrier announced that ATT was buying them so we went back to Sprint and got a Hero and a Moment. There was some sort of hassle signing under my name though, because of the 6 month prior tryout. I'm not sure if we could have got them under my name, but we just put them in my wifes name to avoid hassle.

Actually, I thought they still made you pay the minutes/data you used during those 30 days. Either way...it wouldn't work. They make money...and not buy being scammed by people to cheap to pay.

Actually, Sprint does NOT charge for the data, minutes, or text you use if returned within 30 days.

They do have some sort of deal that prevents people from repeatedly opening and closing accounts.

Sprint does not make you pay for the minutes/data used, if you cancel, under the *30 day* guarantee!

However, if you were to cancel on day 29 and come back two days later, one of two things might happen:

1) They will re-instate your previous account (the one you cancelled per the 30 day guarantee) and allot you the same number (unless you ported out). I know AT&T and Verizon have a certain period (90 days usually) during which if you came back, you'd be considered an existing customer instead of a new one.

2) Let's assume Sprint doesn't enforce the same criteria for a new vs returning customer as AT&T. Now, every time you open a line [every 29 days] you have your credit dinged [even if it's a soft hit] and deal with the hassle of returning/restarting the whole set-up monthly.

Plus, you have to figure in if you pay for the device using a CC, you will be in a constant loop with purchases/returns, leading to your account being possibly flagged for excessive returns/exchanges.

Also, assuming Sprint lets you do this, at some point they will figure out and ban you.

Finally, is it really worth going thru this repeat/rinse hassle every damn month ?

I don't ever see any sensible person who values their time and has a half decent life to even attempt this nonsense..
