Let's talk cases for the HTC EVO 3D.

Actually, it's there now! I guess they were waiting for the official release date to advertise it (not sure why, though).

I have another question for Doomstang though... I really wanted to get a boxwave screen protector, but that's not yet available. Can you comment on the quality/transparency/adhesiveness of the screen protector that comes with the commuter case? I can't decide whether to forgo from using a screen protector until the boxwave protector is available, or whether to use the commuter screen protector until I'm able to get my hands on a boxwave protector (in which case I would try to remove the otterbox protector and replace it with the boxwave).

BTW Doomstang, thanks so much for the great images, they're very helpful!

My guess is it was taken down briefly, nothing showed anywhere but the next day it popped up on the home page. I ordered one Friday late morning, but found one at Sprint so I cancelled the order because they had a 3-5 day order processing time!

I'm going to use it till the Seidio Convert comes out, I like the Seidio clip much better.

To be honest the charging port feels more solid/robust being on the side. Its going to come in handy once I pick up a docking station.

while I agree its fine for docks, see if you still feel that way when you are running out of battery, on an important call, and need to plug in the charger while talking. Also, imagine being such in an airport trying to watch a movie while charging it. There is no strain relief on this style jack. I'm worried that its going to break pretty easily. Now if someone can make a case with a bottom jack, and an internal cable like the htc car kit, that would be slick!

I want that in white! I want the Seidio Active in Purple and for my kickstand case I want this one in white...

I thought this was a cool case, Case-Mate Pop case, even comes with a kickstand. It comes in black and white. Probably the one I'd get if I decided to go with this phone.

The Otterbox defender has a Kickstand? I read something about 20% off and Forusquare which I use all the time how does that work you check in and get 20% off? What other accessories did they have?

Had my heart set on the ballistic hc, but I couldn't carry my baby arround naked for 3+weeks. I bought a otterbox defender from radioshack and I used foursquare to get 20% off(paid 39.99).
It is very great so far and I'm loving the holster/kickstand feature that they put in.

No, it does not have a kickstand.

The Otterbox Screen protector will be getting cut off my defender later this evening! The screen was still viewable with polarized sunglasses till I put the defender on, now it is a rainbow mess. I have a Skinomi on the way, I will just have to live without screen protection till it arrives.

Yes the holster clip doubles as a kickstand. For the discount I checked in and showed him the screen and he applied the discount. I don't know all the accessories hey had, but I know they have invisible shields, Otterbox defender, and otterbox impact. (Idk about commuter since I didn;t see any)

100% False. I have the Otterbox defender case and the belt clip can also be used as a kickstand as well. It is a nice touch. I have been using Otterbox cases for years now. On my last Hero I used the Commuter, the one thing I didn't like was on the defender series was when the clear plastic covered the screen and the two touched it would looke terrible when the screen was off. Almost like there was moisture between the two. I made the guy at Sprint put the phone in the case before I agreed to buy it. I am happy to say they have corrected this issue but I don't know how, and I really don't care, it looks great and protection is second to none. Got a 25% discount if I bought two accessories, so Defender case and a car charger.
I just wish my wife could use a touchscreen phone. Anyone else have this issue? The idiot in retentions lied to be so much, first was how and when I would receive the Evo 3D, he said the same car charger that I had for the Hero would work for the Evo 3D, and he also said the Blackberry 9670 wasn't a touch sensitive phone. Now I have a phone my wife can't use.

I stand corrected, I was not aware of this feature. But the fact that you have to spin the clip around to where the locking tab faces down and the almost upright angle make it a little inconvenient. It is a good idea, they just need a little more tilt and the bottom portion of the holster should remain the bottom.

You can also have the locking tab facing the left or right(when in landscape) or Up/down(in portrait). I use mine with the locking tab that way(I think the angles better) and it is not inconvenient at all for me since I keep the belt clip at that angle normally.

do otter boxes leave any marks on the phone? they look like great protectors but in the past iv had cases leave heavy marks on the phone when removing them, kinda defeated the purpose of the case

I bought the $50 ottorbox case from Radio Shack and my phone came off holster and hit ground and scratched phone. I called RS and they will replace my phone when new shipment arrives.

Np!
Sorry it took so long to reply...I've been rather busy and was just able to get on my laptop for a bit (not even at home still :( ). I just had my dad put my screen protector on about an hour ago...he's much better at them than I am. One spec of dust got on the screen during the few seconds after it was cleaned and before the protector went on but I'd say it looks pretty good. I'm in a dimly lit location right now but so far I can't even tell it's on there (I had completely forgotten until I read this thread). I do know the screen protector that came with it had about 4 small pictures as 'instructions' but I think it turned out well.
I guess it's like almost any screen protector, if you manage to put it on right and avoid any dust or air bubbles it looks pretty darn invisible. Only time will tell as to how long it holds up for (I'm assuming it won't peel up due to the protection of the case).
