Thunderbolt one confused phone (does rooting make it smarter)

This phone has it's good days. It's not a consistent quality product. Let me explain. Ok for starters the battery does fantastic sometimes. I can be playing on my phone and the battery does unbelievably well. Other times I just put the phone on my seat while driving and not even using it and the battery goes down pretty quickly.

Overheating issues. They come when they want to come. The phone gets really got for no apparent reason. Other times it doesn't do to bad. No clue what in the hell is going on with this issue?

While searching on google or something sometimes the screen just goes white. Reboot needed. And sometimes the loading bar loads 80% of the way and just stops right there. Most of the time it takes a little bit and it will finally load the page (wow fast phone, eventually it will load the page lol) It doesn't always do this, but it does it more than I like.

The screen scratches rather easy, Gorilla Glass must not be created equal. HTC must of ordered the cheapest glass they could get from Gorilla and went with them just to say we use " Gorilla Glass" because the reputation of the quality glass they make is good for iPhone and Samsung. Nice little trick HTC.

Light coming through on bottom of the screen. You cannot properly glue the screen right for such an expensive device? It cost enough it should be made good enough to go with it. Quality control use it. I think my screen is coming unglued all the way around. When I tap on screen I can feel it give a little and hear a creaking sound like it's starting to come unglued. Nice work HTC. This phone suppose to get us by for 2 year contract? comical lol.

Extended battery. Wow did you think maybe to like um just make the phone with the extended battery to begin with? Oh wait the phones battery isn't good enough out of the box you have to buy extras to get the phone where it should of been right out of the box. Classy very classy. I wouldn't mind so much if you could Glue your screens right and maybe use quality glass. Do you use Elmer glue for all your gluing?

AMOLED screen
or Retina display ever heard of em? Not smart enough to create an innovative screen? If this phone had something similar to AMOLED screen the battery would do alot better and the colors would be prettier too..The Retina display takes alot of juice, but probably not much more than this standard boring display the Thunderbolt is rocking. At least the Retina is like awesome to look at. HTC is big enough to be putting together some innovation. Making a huge phone with cheap components with lack of thought in it's long term functionality doesn't make you innovative. Verizon has the 4G LTE network so you made a phone that works on it, any company who designs phones can do this rather easy, oh but you were the first? The 4G LTE technology is great, but Verizon invented it and you made hardware that works with it first? congrats to you...Now fix everything else with the phone.

Ok you might say then why did you buy it? Well because of the rave reviews is why. Now I'm stuck with it.

If your battery is draining fast you must have a rouge app running in the background.

Also the GG is scratch resistant and not scratch proof. Why cant people understand this. They hear scratch resistant and think oh My screen wont scratch.

If you wanted AMOLED screen should of got the Charge and an Iphone if you wanted the retina display. Its your fault for settling for a phone you didnt like screen wise.

Charge wasn't out when I got the Tbolt and Verizon wouldn't let me get an iPhone or I would of. The Screen I can live with it's all the other suprises the Tbolt has about it you don't learn until you own the thing. Scratch resistant yes I understand. A phone screen shouldn't scratch in an empty pocket however. My Samsung never did the year and half I owned it without a screen protector on it. Not all Gorilla glass is created equal. Obviously the Samsung Glass and iPhone are superior probably because they paid GG a higher amount for a more premium glass than HTC. No Rouge App or whatever. The phone does this completely stock without even signing up for The Market to download any apps. Other People are having same issue with phone rebooting due to overheat and battery draining unexpected.

You have an app right now thats called blockbuster. It will run in the background if you haven't disabled it to no do so.

Your pockets are not empty. THere can be grit or anything in there to scratch the glass. You was just lucky your samsung phone never scratched. Not because it has superior glass.

My bolts battery can last 32Hrs and sitting idle it is cold to the touch. So you better call verizon about your phone.

Just got my T-bolt two days ago and so far I like it a lot. Not sure why but it seems a lot more responsive than my Droid X that I moved from, even with them having similar processors. That being said, there are some things that I don't like about it but some are personal taste preferences so they don't count. I don't like my notification light being under the speaker cover. Sure that doesn't bother some people but it makes it hard for me to see it. Oh and the battery, I was getting just over 3 hours on a regular battery. However, I now have the extended battery and not only do I get a lot more time, I actually LIKE the way it changes the back, makes it easier for me to hold the phone. The final two are the buttons at the bottom. I am used to hard buttons so the soft touch buttons are an adjustment for me. My other issue with the buttons is that htc seems to juxtapose their home and menu buttons.

Don't think of this post as a rant because it wasn't. As you can see, most of the things I dislike about the phone are just a matter of preference. The only real problem I had was the battery and that was fixed easily enough. Verizon even sold me the extended battery for $20 off! Now, the screen isn't as pretty as the charge's and overall the charge has a few features that I liked more. However, the Thunderbolt has something that I like more than all of it, simultaneous surfing and talking. I was once with ATT and really hated losing that feature with Verizon. Now it is back :D
