Help Metro sending spam by text message

am i the only one who have be receiving spam and adds through text the last two days.

How long have you been with metro?

Occasionally, probably anywhere from once every few months to maybe twice in a month, I'll get a text or a voicemail (mind you, just a voicemail--no call preceeding it, and that's purposeful) with metro trying to spam me in one way or another, either with new plans, or someone else they're sponsoring or that is sponsoring them or whatever. On RARE occasion I've actually received something that was useful--like when they told us all that their plans were now going to the even-number tax inclusive payment setup.

I do wish there was a way to opt out of it. Truth is though I've never called customer service asking that question though. The one thing I don't like about metro is that calling customer service (which I so rarely ever have to do) is typically a big pain in the ass, having to lie to the automated system (I strive never to lie, but I figure since it's a machine and not a person, it removes the moral issue) just to get a real person on the phone. Pressing 0 repeatedly won't do it. So I call only if I have to.

and yeah i saw someone post about that new lg but honestly the only reason i would want another phone is the front facing camera but it's no big deal lol my brothers daughter broke my optimus so i didn't even have to pay for the indulge lol so if need be i'll just sell this and buy whatever comes out next if it is that much more amazing

Over the past week, spammers have been telling folks that they've either won tickets to Great Adventures or an iPad. There are several posts on their Facebook wall about it. I haven't gone digging through them to see if Metro posted an official response yet. Someone was told at the store that Metro knows nothing about it.

Edit: Metro has posted a response
