Question about the market

I noticed last night when I went in to the market. I hit settings and saw Google AdMob Ads Preferences. I saw it was checked. I was wondering what does it actually do and if you disable it would it help with battery life? I never noticed this before and has me curious.

Interesting i didnt even give that option any second thought. I got mine unchecked now.
