fascinate battery life

sunday i upgraded to the 2.2.1 software on my samsung fascinate, now my battery life sucks. i'm having to charge it like 3 times a day...anyone else have this problem?

the exact same problem here! the battery usage says 85-90% is display

i have facotry reset, cleared cache in recovery mode, screen time out is 30sec no gps and the phone just sits there on desk at work. from 6am to 1130 it ges from fully changred to less than 5%...

Download an app called spare parts. One of the things it will do is show you what is using battery. It is possible there is an app causing wakelock.

If you're display is 85%-90%, that's awful a lot of usage. I'm a hardcore user myself, but I never see my display usage that high.

Are you on AOSP rom? Because I know they tend to have higher display usage.

I think it's safe to say all AOSP roms would have high display usage when you check battery usage.

When I was using Droid Incredible, it was the same issue.


Are you using any AOSP on your Desire HD?

Weird. I ran CM7 for a while and Cell Standby or Phone Idle were always top in my battery usage stats. I switched back to a Sense based ROM, and now Display is always the highest.

I'll take another look when/if I switch to CM7 again. Cheers for the info.

Remember a hard core user wont have display as the highest battery usage. The 85-90% doesnt mean that it is using 85-90% of your battery, it means that of the battery useage, 90% of it goes to the display, which is normal for a bright high quality screen. I get about 36 hours on a charge with light usage and 85% of it is still display. If you just did the update your going to have to do some full discharge recharge cycles to recalibrate the battery. If you are rooted you can just wipe battery stats
