Worse (or better) battery life: Inspire or Infuse?

I currently have an HTC Inspire that I love...I think HTC as a whole makes the best Android phones. That said...I miss the AMOLED screen on my Incredible, among other things, and I am seriously considering a switch to the Infuse. I know the battery on the Inspire is terrible, but I'm used to it.

Can I expect to see any improvement with the Infuse?

Wow, I can't imagine a worse battery life than the Infuse. I'm at the point where I have a non-animated wallpaper, dim back-light setting and virtually no apps. or widgets, yet the battery goes to half in 6 hrs. of mostly standby usage. What am I doing worng?

I'm coming up on my 30 day return window, so this may be a deal-breaker for me and I may go back to an iPhone. Other than battery life, I love this phone.

I would definitely exchange your phone for a different one, I have at least 10 Widgets, a live wallpaper, and wigdetlocker running constantly, with Widgets on my lockscreen as well and my battery lasts at least 12 hours with heavy usage. If I don't use the phone that much it can last longer than 24 hours. You may have got a lemon. Bad luck, but don't give up on the infuse its great! Make sure you use your task manager. When I first got the phone I was leaving every program open constantly and that was sucking my battery.

Thanks. I do use the task manager regularly but I think I found the drain. I have 4 mailboxes regularly searching for new email. Yesterday when I finally found the sub-menu for turning off the automatic search (i.e., now making it manual), my battery life seemed to be much better.

Can you tell me how did you find that sub-menu? Thank you.

Battery life fkn blows on the Infuse, I went to the beach the other day, and browsed Google+ & Tapatalk and the phone went from 90% to 20 LOL jesus fken christ man... Ugh maybe that's just normal, but coming from an Atrix that is just a nightmare.

This is with the Infused v2 Stable Rom (which helps the battery out lol) & Juice Defender on Aggressive mode...

I know what you mean brother. I just switched yesterday from my iphone 3g. Battery was always good with that phone. Today I am getting a rude awakening with this phone. I have pretty much signed out of everything. All I am doing is text messaging and aphone call here and there for 2-3 mins each call. I have 29 more days to see if I really want this phone or send it back. Time will tell.

You guys must be doing something wrong. I don't use juice defender or any battery life extenders, i just monitor my task manager and make sure app's are closed. I am also running on infused 2.0.2. That picture is with heavy use as well. I can last 2 days with light use. Don't give up on this phone battery life is amazing.

I am so far finding out the many things this phone can do. So it is a blast so far. My task manager has basically nothing running in it. Just text message stuff. My WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS, is all off. I mainly use my phone for texting mostly and talking secondly. Some "light" web searching. No heavy duty usage. In the setting, when i click on applications, I then click on running services. I really have nothing running.

Can you tell me what should be left on and what is ok to stop running until I need it? Also with that screen shot you posted, may I ask where that usage data can be found? Thank you for your help.

I don't know how you define heavy or light use, but my phone currently says:

"3d 5h 14m 23s since unplugged"

Display 48%
Wi-fi 23%
Cell standby 16%
Phone idle 8%
Android System 4%
Voice calls 1%

The battery level is at 29% and just went yellow

Obviously, I don't use the phone for phone calls alot. But what things constitute heavy usage? I have some apps, not alot. I do web searches. I am running a live wallpaper. Sometimes I watch video. I do try to close apps/ programs periodically, like the browser or Market, etc. I turn the GPS off when I'm not out somewhere.
