help on buying a new phone

hi guys ..
Im going to a buy a new android phone this month .. it will be my first android phone ..
and im so confused between these 3 phones
-samsung galaxy s
-samsung google nexus s
-htc desire s

which one do you recommend for me ??

You should uh, get the Google G1. Its by far the best one out there for its price.

And all of those phones you posted, they're basically the same thing, but named different for different carriers. Like sprint has the Galaxy, Verison has the Desire, etc.

thank you .. but i need to know should i go for samsung or htc
and for the samsung galaxy s can i update the android version to gingerbread ??and if yes how ?

Well I like HTC. Just saying. Go with them.
Just type "Samsung Galaxy S specs" into google...
Features OS Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair), upgradable to v2.3
So you've got the latest version 2.3, gingerbread there.

All the phones you listed are decent, it really comes down to your preferences.

That's what's so great about Android - lots of choices, with each phone having a unique feature or features that set it apart from others.

You dont have to root the phone before upgrading up. Thats only sometimes, you have to root the phone to get like Unreleased New Versions or something like that. But you should just get a little pop up on your screen "Hey a newer version is available!"

No, no...I dont think a samsung and a HTC are the same thing. Nexus/Galaxy are pretty close, but the nexus is THE google phone. It will get os updates in a timely manner without fear of being stuck on 2.2 or 2.3

Rooting is more for users who want to. Usually for more internal memory, better battery life and to make the device faster. For normal updates you will get a notification if its an OTA(over the air)update, or you may have to download and install a pc based update

i think ill go for the galaxy s since it records videos at 720p but the nexus s records at wvga .. i wish i can get the galaxy s2 but it so expensive :S

It's the interface of samsung ,Launcher/framework .How your phone looks and behaves
HTC has Sense and I think Sony Ericsson has Timescape.

I will actually recommend Google Nexus S since you will get official Ice cream sandwich much earlier than Galaxy S(6 months earlier).But then thats me and I hardly use the camera on by phone except for barcode scanning

Wow, where to start? First off, G1 is only a great choice if you are starting an android museum. Second off, do some fact-checking before you post, kay? The Desire is an HTC phone. Verizon has nothing called the Desire. The Nexus S, on the other hand, is pure beautiful Google goodness. That's what I would go with, from the choices the OP listed.

guys i heard that on the desire s i cant install apps to the memory card ..
only some of the apps can be moved to the sd memory .. is that true ?

If you want a good device of Android I would go with an Atrix good for benchmarks.

OK guys .. i'm now confused between desire s and incredible s .. i know that the Incredible s has a bigger display with 8 MP camera .. but the point is which one has the better build up design .. i heard some problems with the battery cover of the desire s .. and on the other hand incredible s isn't a uni-body design as the desire s ..
any advice about which has the better build up quality ??
