why is the 3vo thinner and taller than the orginal?

Personally I was comparing the Thunderbolt and Evo 3D for my real first Android phone, and I grew to like the wider look of the Thunderbolt. I didn't notice how much taller the 3VO was till I finally saw them together, and I ended up not liking it. Though when you look at it the aspect ratio does not change the screen that much but it sure makes it look like it does. I plan to watch movies on it so having it in 16:9 is ideal I guess.

Maybe this could be a poll to see which form factor/aspect ratio people prefer (E4G vs 3vo and possibly vs thunderbolt)?

Myself, I prefer the original aspect ratio of the E4G screen. But I DO love the new form factor. It fits the hand so much better. If I had to vote, I'd have to go 3vo. It sucks having to squint when viewing small font that can't be changed (such as with chandroid), but I'd rather have a phone that's a bit easier to hold and doesn't compromise on the overall screen size.

Just curious... Is Sprint getting the TB? If not, then why would you make that comparison?

No it isn't coming to Sprint. It's just that PyroJing mentioned it, and I figured it might have a different form factor. I've never held one myself. But it is in close relation to the evo family regardless of what network it's on so I thought it could be compared (hence the possibly part).

Even though I really like my new 3vo, I dislike the the 'smaller' font.

I was comparing it with my Evo 4g and the text was sooo much nicer on the Evo4G. The 3D just seems a bit on the small side.

I am getting used to it, but do find myself occasionally squinting a bit.

Oh well....

I imagine the font isn't just about the screen width, that probably has more to do with the resolution than the screen width. I'm really loving the resolution because the hardest things to see are web pages and the HTC text reflow is second to none. One of my favorite features of HTC phones because it happens so effortlessly.

The gf just got the TBolt and when we went into the Sprint store I almost died when she pulled out her TBolt for me to compare size wise. A little demasculating having my gf pull out her TBolt with a bright purple rubber case around it and put next to the 3V0 only to see that hers was definitely bigger. I'd compare them because if I stay with Verizon that is what I'll be getting. Doesn't hurt to compare different carrier phones. In fact, I think phones have quite a bit of influence on what carrier people go to. AT&T & iPhone anyone?
